Are people seriously hating on Godot? Posted: 18 Feb 2020 05:32 PM PST I am a bit new to ace attorney in sense that i have finished trilogy and going through investigations now, but i have noticed that people generally don't like Godot and i am very surprised because he is easily my favorite character from the series. He has best theme, super funny, i love his animations especially the one where he spits out the coffee, and the one where he throws coffee at wright. He has best quotes, amazing backstory, and is ultimately the good guy because he wanted to protect maya in 3rd game, he even cried because of that at the end (yes he did, it was a metaphor) so he is ultimately a good guy. I was so sad about the fact that he had to be punished at the end because i loved the character so much. Why are some people hating on him? i have seen a lot of people saying that he is asshole which totally blew my mind. [link] [comments]
[AA Trilogy] Battle of the dumb criminals: 1-1 vs. 2-1? Posted: 18 Feb 2020 10:45 PM PST As the title says, between tutorial baddies Frank Sahwit and Richard Wellington who's the dumber murderer? If a separate answer, who's the more entertaining character? [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Feb 2020 05:57 PM PST Just had this realization when thinking about my favorite character in gaming (Apollo, natch): Every attorney in the series has a moment of crisis where they have to face what it means to be a lawyer, discover the path to truth for themselves, and once they do they're ready for their greatest challenge. Miles has his at the end of AA1, and when he comes back in JfA, he is confident in his beliefs and is able to help Phoenix save Maya. The last case in Justice for All is Phoenix's, when he must choose between the truth and the life of his friend. His choice and affirmation allows him to face his past and the Fey demons in TaT. Apollo's comes in Dual Destinies, when he has to face off against his friends in his own quest for truth. He realizes who he is and what he believes, passing his own trial, and is ready for what he faces in Spirit of Justice. Just thought I'd share. DAMN, I love these games! [link] [comments]
Ace Attorney: Investigations 2 REVIEW Posted: 18 Feb 2020 07:05 PM PST (TYPO WARNING) So, a couple of weeks ago, I finally got the chance to play Investigations 2 on an emulator, and I've gotta say, it was a complete blast. Probably the best Ace Attorney game I've played (or at least, my favorite,) since Trials and Tribulations. If you want to quit reading this review and go play it right now, then you have my sincere recomendation. I'm going to be going over some individual points, and I'll dive into heavy spoilers, so this is your last chance to avoid spoilers. STORY AND THEMES The story and themes of AAI2 are some of the most compelling of the series. Edgeworth is the best he's ever been writing-wise, and seeing his journey and revelations about what his role in the legal world could be is truly entertaining (although having played DD and SOJ beforehand, I kinda knew what was gonna happen). The different caaes in this game, excepting maybe the third one, all follow the same narrative cohesion about this conspiracy involving different prosecutors and other authority figures, and seeing how Edgeworth's arc mirrors the discoveries he makes is pretty masterful. CHARACTER Other than the ObLiGaToRY LaRrY BuTz appearence, there's not a bad character to be found! Even the more annoying ones are entertaining in their animations, or at the bery least have a catchy theme. Sebatian Debeste's arc is phenomenal, and I don't want to say anything more, if you've played it, you know what I'm talking about, and if not, GO PLAY IT! Justine Courtney came across as way too obstinate in the earlier cases, but over the third and fourth, you see her start to lean towards Edgeworth's side, and her role in case 5 is pretty legendary. Lang also comes back, and is super cool in a more supportive role. The game features several callback characters, like Will Powers and Lotta Hart, and though some of their appearences seem excessive, they almost all feature some sort of narrative purpose, and even Larry Butz isn't too annoying. ANIMATION This game features my favorite animation of the seriesm hands down. The perspective with which you interact with all the characters allows for so much effective animation. When you deal a heavy blow to your foe, their sprite will rock backward as they respond appropriately, and each character's range of emotions is extremely entertaining to watch. Every criminal's breakdown is amazing, completely worth the hours spent breaking them down. And NONE of them have any bullcrap diplomatic immunity! Wowee! Also, the fanmade voice clips are all pretty good, and have a lot of homebrewed charm. LOGIC CHESS TIME This doesn't fit anywhere else, but Edgeworth's logic chess mechanic is really fun. It can be kinda finicky at times, but at other times, it feels great to verbally best your foe, even though realistically, it doesn't make much sense. In conclusion, this game is amazingm and incredible, and absolutely stunning. Maybe one day I will play the Great Ace Attorney, but...alas. Go play AAI2, if you can. Download a free DS emulator and download the fan translation, it's all free. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Feb 2020 08:08 PM PST So, this weekend I was too busy to complete case 5 but, now I'm back and picking up right where if left off. So time to play until 1 AM again, I'll give my thoughts when I'm done [link] [comments]
What's everyone's opinion of Dhurke? *SOJ spoilers* Posted: 18 Feb 2020 03:04 PM PST Honestly I think Dhurke is pretty cool. I thought that being able to spend some time with Dhurke before his trial in Khura'in was a great way of getting to know him better. It breaks his image of "the terrible rebel leader that murdered the previous queen in cold blood". It shows that really, he's just a dad that wants to spend time with his kids, wants to restore the legal system in Khura'in, and he wants to find his wife. The reveal that he was actually dead the whole time shocked me and actually made me cry. The only other time something like that happened was during 2-4 and I merely teared up. Other than that, I never full on cried because of an Ace Attorney game until then. Dhurke's death cutscene not only showed how much of a badass he is, it showed how much he was dedicated to the revolution and how much he cared for his kids. I have no idea what anybody else thinks of Dhurke and I would love to see what everyone else thinks of him. [link] [comments]
Which was your Reaction to Dual Destinies Big Bad? Posted: 18 Feb 2020 02:55 PM PST Topic, since the Phantom identity was probably one of the most shocking twists in the series, how did you react to the whole Fulbright thing? Also, when the Phantom used the Solomon mask, did you actually believe that Solomon was the Phantom? [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Feb 2020 04:09 PM PST So for a month or two, I've been looking on where to buy the games that come after the Trilogy. I already own a 3DSXL, and I keep trying to look for the games online since there are none in any stores near me. The ones I'm finding online are about $20-$40 USD each, and the people I've been asking have said that it should be cheaper. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
