Some interesting attention to detail in GAA 2-3 Posted: 04 Jun 2022 05:57 AM PDT The case of The Return of the Great Departed Soul revolves around the concept of teleportation — an idea scientifically fictional back in its era and even of today. An interesting note to mind is the word 'teleportation.' In the original Japanese text and in the Scarlet Study fan translation, they refer to the action merely as 'teleportation' and 'teleport.' However, in the official English translation, they keep an insistent terminology and refer to it as 'instantaneous kinesis.' Now surely they could be less verbose and just call it teleportation but that is not the case throughout the entire trial. Turns out there is a perfectly valid explanation. The word 'teleportation' and its derivative words was coined by Charles Fort, which was in 1931, more than thirty years after the story's speculated timeline. Although the word 'teleport' dates back before that, it was not until it was popularized by Fort does it become a fully known word. This attention to detail by the official translators is truly appreciable and goes to show their dedication to be as accurate as possible, even such we don't notice at first glance. I just completed Turnabout Serenade Posted: 04 Jun 2022 08:34 AM PDT I've heard only bad things about the case and how it is the worst in the series. Yet I really enjoyed it and don't get the hate on it. It is a nice 3rd case and certainly better than Turnabout Samurai which many people like [link] [comments] | ||
