An Idea For Future AA games

What if instead of trying to awkwardly shove the OG cast into cases that are meant to explore the newer cast' character arcs, they just made a special DLC case just for them to satisfy both sides. We get a fully-fledged Athena or Apollo game and we also get to see the OGs in action for a bit. What do you think? Does that sound like a good idea? Or will it cause more problems?

Edit: To anyone who SOMEHOW doesn't comprehend my idea, here's a visual representation (it was made in Paint in 5 minutes so it's pretty sh*t):

Finished the first game of the PW: Ace Attorney Trilogy! Really enjoyed it, can't wait to see what's next!

Played the first Ace Attorney game recently...

    Posted: 11 Jun 2022 04:31 AM PDT

And my goodness I loved it, it had me hooked from start to finish in all 5 cases (played Trilogy version so had the bonus case) It makes me wish I hadn't put off buying it for so long, the characters, the plot, the mystery, the intense Court room showdowns the music, I have virtually zero flaws with it, I cannot speak my praises of it enough

Which of the Court OST additions you like the most?

(I'd say this poll is a bit unpolished. I came up with the idea on the fly.)

I decided to avoid minigames' soundtracks, such as "C-E Presto", "Mood Matrix", "Summation Examination" or other themes, because they would win for sure. I went with the one's I don't see anyone mention a lot.

Edit: "Theme of the United Front" is from PLvsAA (VS).

When does the bitter taste of truth play in T&T?

I'm trying to remember which scene it plays at in a final case but I forget. It's my favorite music in the whole franchise!

Dual Destinies Episode 5 Reveal - How I Would've Done It

    Posted: 11 Jun 2022 09:47 AM PDT

I just want to start this by saying that this isn't a criticism on Dual Destinies nor its ending. I loved playing it and I loved the Phantom as a villian, I just would've done things a tad bit differently.

I just finished Dual Destinies and I was absolutely heartbroken on the Phantom reveal. The moment the implied it was Detective Fulbright, a character who I really loved, I was just hoping there'd be another twist. When Edgeworth said that Bobby Fulbright was actually dead all along, I was super upset. I love Ace Attorney and obviously it's not like this ruined Dual Destinies for me, it was an awesome game and it ended very nicely. I just they handled the reveal in a lighter sense. It just seemed a tad bit dark for how Ace Attorney usually is.

    How I Would've Done It:

I would've made it so that the Bobby Fulbright in Episodes 2, 3 and the DLC, is the real one. And that from Episode 4 and onward, he was taken hostage and it's at that point when the Phantom takes his place. Then in the end, similar to how Maya was recused in Episode 4 of Justice for All, they recuse the real Fulbright, and that's how the prove that the Phantom Fulbright is a fake. At this point, the Phantom can make up whatever excuse he wants, we still get the awesome triple takedown with Athena's earring as proof, and the game could end with an emotional roller coaster of a reveal, and we still get the Bobby Fulbright we all know and love. (This is how I'm pretending it happened in my mind. I don't think I could get through the DLC knowing my Justice-buddy is evil.)

It could go that way, or they could've picked a different character for the reveal. Similar to Simon Keyes in Investigations 2, they could've gone with a character that made less of an impact. That was a very well done unmasking, where you're shocked by who the true mastermind is, but you aren't completely heartbroken over it.

Let me know what you guys think? Did you think it was well done, or do you have your own ways you'd want the ending to go?

    Stuck on 'The Stolen Turnabout'

    Posted: 11 Jun 2022 03:43 PM PDT

I am playing through Trials and Tribulations on the old iOS port. I've gotten to the second investigation segment of case 2 and I don't know how to progress. The last thing I did was activate Adrian Andrews' Psyche Locks, but couldn't break them. Every guide online tells me to go to the Detention Centre after this so I can talk to Ron, but when I go there he just doesn't show up. I have no idea what to do or if I missed something. Please help.

What do we want from AA7?

    Posted: 11 Jun 2022 03:16 AM PDT

So, if Capcom do eventually announce Ace Attorney 7 (or whatever it will be called), what kinda stuff do you think we're gonna get from it? Will we see a return to playing as Phoenix? What does a next-gen Ace Attorney game look like?

I think perhaps we could see a departure from the tried-and-true Visual Novel format to maybe something a little more open-ended. I think exploring crime scenes in 3D with a cel-shaded art style would be cool, and maybe a small opem world to connect everything?

With there being no strict handhelds anymore, I think that'll mean Capcom have a little more room to play around and expand on the traditional Ace Attorney gameplay. What do you all think?

Just finished the trilogy but am confused

    Posted: 11 Jun 2022 04:54 AM PDT

Hey all, I finished the trilogy last night (on PC) and I loved it so much! I didn't realise there were so many more games, let me know what I should play next!

However, I hope you can help me fill in some plot holes that I must have missed. Apologies if these are dumb questions...

    - In the last trial of the second game (I've forgotten the name, it's the one where Mia gets kidnapped) I thought that we'd find out more about Shelly de Killer, since in the epilogue his card was found with Phoenix's face drawn on it. What was this in reference to, in the end? I thought it meant that the assassin knew Phoenix.

    - In Bridge to the Turnabout, how did Maya (and Mia) know to channel Dahlia after Maya woke up in the Inner Temple? I thought she didn't see who attacked her?

    - Did Iris agree to help Diego and "take the fall" purely to protect the main Fey bloodline?

    - I wonder what role Iris was meant to have had in the staged kidnapping (the previous case), where she "betrayed" Dahlia by running away instead? If Valerie was already in on it, what was meant to happen?

I feel like I need to draw a diagram with the whole timeline haha!

Why I Don't Want More For Athena

    Posted: 11 Jun 2022 02:35 PM PDT

I'll be honest; I wanted Athena to get her own game after playing DD and SOJ. My hatred of her portrayal in 6-4, 6-DLC, and SOJ as a whole were some of the main reasons for me wanting Athena to get her own game. However, I grew to dislike the idea, first because Capcom likely won't make a game for Athena anytime soon, and second because of the many issues that come with giving her her own game, issues that I shall now explain.

    1. Backstory, backstory, backstory: Athena already has a backstory, and a new Athena game does not necessarily mean more backstory for her. However, Apollo had a backstory in AJ, albeit not much of one, and he got a very complicated backstory in SOJ on top of his existing backstory. While I have no real evidence that Athena would receive similar treatment in a hypothetical Athena Cykes: Ace Attorney, both Phoenix and Apollo's backstories were expanded upon in their later games. For Athena, this could just mean minor additions to her backstory, but I'm worried that it will be a massive change, like what was the case with Apollo.
    2. Never Meant to be a Protagonist: As it turns out, Athena was most likely never intended to be a protagonist. Instead, it appears that her role was supposed to be that of an assistant first and a playable attorney second. For one, the Japanese definition of "heroine" differs from the Western one. In the West, "heroine" typically refers to a female protagonist. In Japan, "heroine" usually means "female assistant to the (usually male) protagonist." Obviously, she was made playable twice, first in 5-3, and then in 6-4. However, both cases were largely filler episodes, and in the greater plots of DD and SOJ, she was first a plot point and was later relegated to a side character insignificant to the overarching narrative.

Of course, I don't really know what to do with the franchise going forward. If they make a new game, chances are that the game will star Phoenix due to his popularity. The Japanese essentially say that if a game doesn't have Phoenix, it has no right to call itself an Ace Attorney game. My idea has a new protagonist, but from what I've heard about Japanese fans, there's no way the Japanese would ever like the game.
