I get it now. Playing 2-4 now so don't spoil beyond that but that was the best case I have ever had the privilege of playing through, and I was under the impression that nothing could beat Bridge. I'm so glad you all told me to keep playing!!

My Opinions on "Bridge to the Turnabout" after finishing the series (and to a lesser extent the whole trilogy) (TT: Case 5)

    Posted: 11 Jan 2022 05:42 PM PST

    Intro

I'll be honest, I was going to consider skipping this portion because everyone is probably familiar with this case. The Holy Grail of all cases and probably the most well loved case in the series by far. While scrolling through endless posts and videos, I see nothing but praise. Most people say it's at least one of the greatest cases of all time and many say it's their favorite case in the series. bUt DoES iT DesERvE iT'S aCClaimED TiTLE?

    probably yeah

    The Case

This case has it's problems so I'll get them out of the way. Pearls just kind of disappears for some reason and comes back at the end and it feels kind of strange, Franziska feels kind of forced back into the game and that's about all my issues with this case.

Essentially Phoenix goes to find someone he thinks is Dahlia Hawthorne and learns about the history of the Fey Clan for about 30 minutes until this girl named Elise Deauxnim is found dead. Phoenix also Dies so now we play as Edgeworth for a single day with everyone's favorite girl prosecutor Franziska Von Karma. We have Edgeworth on the defense team defending Iris and Franziska on the Prosecutor's bench and we solve a couple of the mysteries on the other side of the bridge.

Speaking of Iris, she's that one character that probably should've came back sometime later. It feels strange that Phoenix never mentions her to anyone after the events of this case, and its a bit UNCANNNY. But that's also due to the no spoiler rule that definitely causes a lot of continuity errors later on in the series. However, her presence in this case is really good here and causes little issues.

Back to the case, Defense Attorney Edgeworth manages to gain another day and we get to play as Phoenix again. The other side of the bridge is finally able to be investigated and this is where the case really becomes something special. If the first half of the case was just your average amazing ace attorney case, then this is what definitely brings the whole case and makes it level up. We learn about the shenanigans Pearls has done and how she got tricked into almost summoning a literal devil back onto the planet Earth. Elise Deauxnim's identity, and where the coffee man has been for the last day. A lot goes on here to keep you invested and the investigations are generally really fun.

The trial is also a gigantic brain explosion where you have to

    A. Figure out where the hell Maya is before she freezes to death

    B. Get Iris a Non Guilty Verdict

    C. Learn how the heck Misty Fey was transported halfway across the Bridge

    D. Learn who the culprit is

Which is a lot to carry but it does come together, we also learn about Dahlia Hawthorne's antics from the literal other side of the grave. There's a lot of lore in this section, especially due to the amount of insanity that goes on within 3 hours. Speaking of everyone's favorite devil, Dahlia Hawthorne is an interesting villain. She's really powerful on the surface, but her plans almost always fall through because something wrong almost always happens at the end that forces her to improvise. A lot of her major plans end up happening on the fly and get her even closer to getting into jail. She's not afraid to take big risks, but those risks also make her plans fall through. She also gets exorcised which is still probably one of my favorite moments in the series. (It Doesn't excuse her attempt to kill not Kasuga Ichiban from Yakuza 7 though)

We still haven't figured out the culprit at this point, but it eventually leads to one single man. LARRY BUTZ THAT SONOF A. It's Godot, or Diego Armando, Mr Coffee man himself. While I may have a Hot Cocoa Addiction, he has a large coffee tolerance that I don't know how to put in words. Godot is not the man he used to be, he's essentially a dead person brought back to life, and during his "death", he'd lost almost everything. From his actual physical capabilities, to his potential love interest. He blames Phoenix Wright for the death of his love interest despite us knowing very well that none of what happened then was Phoenix's fault. He also does a lot of stupid things in the sake of "justice" and I love him for that. He could've done anything to keep people from dying, but no! He ends up making a large mistake and hurts other people for it. He wants that redemption and he's willing to kill for it.

This is also by far Phoenix's best appearance in the series for me, while in the first game and Justice For All, he's there to be the shoes you put yourself in. Now, he's had a motive to do what he does and it perfectly ties him into the plot. This is definitely the case that made Phoenix feel like an absolute boss and I'm here for it. We also end the game with one of the, if not THE best moment in the series. The iconic double objection with the first pursuit theme. What A BANGER.

Verdict (and a subsequent look back at the Trilogy)

This case is a masterpiece, I'm not the first one to say it, I'll be far from the last either. It has it's flaws, just like any other case does (except for one that really sticks near and dear to my heart). But there's really not much I can say other than HECK THAT WAS GOOD. The Trilogy in general is a set of games with stellar highs, a few lows, and Big Top. Overall though, it's a classic for many reasons and the overarching plot of the games really come together, especially for Bridge to the Turnabout. While each game individually are all very good, the whole package really sells it. There are cases that have outdone this one IN MY OPINION, but this is still a classic and one for the ages.

I hope Apollo Justice will be as good as I remember

Haha Encanto x Ace Attorney! Spoilers for T&T, Flashback case in AJ and end of SOJ

    Posted: 11 Jan 2022 04:23 PM PST

OK! So I might have made We don't talk about Bruno 'We don't talk about Dahlia' instead! Some of the lyrics make no sense but to make it clear, I don't know what I'm doing XD anyways, when they're talking at the beginning it's making a uh scenario(?) {T&T spoilers for majority of the cases (I think)} where Dahlia tells Mia that something happened to Godot or Deigo BTW I used Google translate for one bit so it might be translated wrong! The words also (apparently

Anyways! Here you are! My stupid lyrics I made on the spot and struggled with so that's why some of them are bad!

    (Spoken)

    Trucy: Who's Dahlia Hawthorne?

Maya: We don't talk about Dahlia

Phoenix: She needs to know; she's read the case file after all.

Maya: We DON'T talk about Dahlia!

Trucy: But why did daddy write about her as if he knew her already?

Phoenix: Dahlia and I did know each-

    [Maya:]

We don't talk about Dahlia, no, no, no

We don't talk about Dahlia, but

    It was Mia's birthday day

    [Phoenix:]

    It was her sister's day

    [Maya:]

    We were getting ready

And there wasn't a cloud in the sky

    [Phoenix:]

No clouds allowed in the sky

    [Maya:]

Dahlia walks in with a mischievous grin

    [Phoenix:]

    Death-day!

    [Maya:]

You're telling the story or am I?

    [Phoenix:]

I'm sorry watashi no tomotachi go on

    [Maya:]

Dahlia says, "It looks like blood"

    [Phoenix:]

    Why did she tell us?

    [Maya:]

In doing so, she floods her brain

    [Phoenix:]

    Everyone gets the' umbrellas

    [Maya:]

    Crying in a storm

    [Phoenix:]

What a 'joyous' day but anyway

    [Maya and Phoenix:]

We don't talk about Dahlia, no, no, no

    We don't talk about Dahlia

    [Iris:]

Hey, grew to live in fear of Dahlia shifting or sneaking

I can always hear her sort of muttering and mumbling

I associate her with the sound of falling Hell, ch-ch-ch

It's a heavy lift with a 'gift' so ugly

Always left victims and prey stumbling

Grappling with secrecies they couldn't understand

    Do you understand?

    [Phoenix:]

Sweet-face frame, moths along her back

When she calls your name it all fades to red

Yeah, she sees your dreams and feasts on your screams (Hey)

    [Maya and Phoenix:]

We don't talk about Dahlia, no, no, no

    [Iris:]

    No, no

    [Maya and Phoenix:]

    We don't talk about Dahlia

    [Iris:]

    We don't talk about Dahlia

    [girl:]

She told me my father would die, the next day, dead

    [Ensemble:]

    No, no

    [boy1:]

She told me my life was going to go downhill and just like she said

    [Ensemble:]

    No, no

    [boy2:]

She said that my sister would disappear, now, look at the news!

    [Ensemble:]

    Hey!

    No, no

Your fate is sealed when your name is muttered is read

    [Iris:]

She told me that the life of my dreams

Would be promised, and someday be mine

She told me that my powers would grow

Like the spirits that thrive on the dead

    [Athena:]

    Óye, Apollo's on his way!

    [Iris:]

She told me that the man of my dreams

Would be just out of reach

    Unavailable to communication

It's like I hear her, now

    (memory)

    [Dahlia:]

Hey sis, I want not a sound out of you

    (End of memory)

    [Iris:]

It's like I can hear her now, I can hear her now

    [Trucy:]

    Um, Dahlia

    Yeah, about that Dahlia

I really need to know about Dahlia

Give me the truth and the whole truth, Dahlia

    [Phoenix:]

    Trucy, your brother's here

    [Maya and Iris:]

    Time for dinner

    [Phoenix:]

A sweet-face frame, moths along her back

    [Maya:]

    It was Mia's birthday day

    [Félix:]

    It was her sister's day

    [Iris:]

She told me that the life of my dreams

Grew to live in fear of Dahlia shifting or sneaking

    [Phoenix:]

When she calls your name it all fades to red

    [Maya:]

We were getting ready and there wasn't a cloud in the sky

    [Phoenix:]

I can always hear her sort of muttering and mumbling

I associate him with the sound of falling Hell, ch-ch-ch

    [Phoenix:]

    Yeah, she sees your dreams

    [Maya:]

Dahlia walks in with a mischievous grin

    [Iris:]

She told me that my powers would grow

It's a heavy lift with a 'gift' so ugly

    [Phoenix:]

    And feasts on your screams

    Death-day

    [Maya:]

You're telling the story or am I?

    [Phoenix:]

I'm sorry watashi no tomotachi go on

    [Iris:]

Like the spirits that thrive on the dead, I'm fine

Always left Abuela and the family fumbling

Grappling with prophecies they couldn't understand

    Do you understand

    [Athena:]

    Óye, Apollo's on his way

    [Maya:]

Dahlia says, "It looks like blood"

    [Phoenix:]

    Crying in a storm

    [Phoenix:]

    What a 'joyous' day

    [Iris:]

And I'm fine, and I'm fine, and I'm fine, I'm fine

    [Ensemble:]

    He's here

    Don't talk about Dahlia, no

    [Trucy:]

Why did I talk about Dahlia?

    [Ensemble:]

    Not a word about Dahlia

    [Trucy:]

I never should have brought up Dahlia!

Ty for reading this terrible cringe and have a good rest of your day!

About The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, does anyone else think the cases are less dramatic than the previous games? SPOILERS

    Posted: 11 Jan 2022 03:51 PM PST

I only played the "Adventures" part so far and beat it.

But only the first case is interesting with an interesting breakdown.

The second one is an accident.

The third one was unfinished due to lack of evidence and no breakdown from the killer.

The fourth one was an accident.

The fifth one, well it had a pretty fun breakdown actually lol. So I guess two cases were interesting.

I loved the game but it felt weaker than the other Ace Attorneys. Thoughts?
