Unpopular Opinion: But I am less hopeful and excited for Ace Attorney 7

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 08:14 PM PST

I get that you want the main cast including the Wright Anything Agency to continue, you want it to be focused more on Athena, you want the same status quo for trials to continue, and you want the whole Apollo/Trucy sibling reveal by Thalassa resolved.

...But isn't it already inevitable that it's pointless? Not only do I feel that there is nothing for the cast, but going forward with the stories of the Wright Anything Agency lawyers as well as Phoenix feels less impressing. Since it's inevitable that they'll win in the end regardless of the stakes being raised all over again should Capcom consider unpredictably speaking.

I don't know. Ace Attorney 7 is a game that I won't be happy for, nor will I be excited since I already know the drama back in Spirit of Justice and Dual Destinies.

Why was Miles Edgeworth's name changed to Benjamin Hunter in the French localization?

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 04:06 PM PST

They're both English names, and since the original NA release did not include the French localization and the original European release came out 5 months after its NA counterpart (thereby allowing me to deduce that the English localization was completed first), it seems silly to change the name yet again if you're not going to use a French name.

Box Art Characters for Ace Attorney 7

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 05:01 PM PST

A majority of the box arts of Ace Attorney games have 4 characters on them who play pretty significant roles in the game. Which 4 characters would you want to see on the box art of Ace Attorney 7? My personal 4 would be Edgeworth, Ema, Apollo, and a new defense attorney that is the antagonist in the game. It would be cool if you could play from the perspective of the prosecution in court by playing as Edgeworth. What do you guys think?

***Spoilers for Trials and Tribulations*** Godot - What's up Sub Reddit. I got a little bored, and caffeinated, so here's an analysis I wrote of Godot.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 09:15 PM PST

    >! Godot couldn't see Red ontop of White. Godot couldn't see Redd White, for he was in a Coma. Godot couldn't see Redd White coming after his lover, Mia Fey. No matter the man, we all wear masks. Whether it be over our faces, or over our hearts. It makes sense why his theme, The Fragrance of Dark Coffee, ends up having a different vibe at the end of the game. Throughout the game, the song compliments his nonsensical riddles. However when applied to the final case, Bridge to Turnabout, it's a song that genuinely makes you want to cry. Throughout Trials and Tribulations, you meet him as a mysterious man, who hates Phoenix Wright, and replies with quips, and refers to him as "Trite." He comes off as a lazy prosecutor, with an addiction to coffee. But through the build up to Trials and Tribulations, you learn who Godot really is. You find out what his drive is to torment Phoenix. Godot is a broken man, who lost his career as a defense attorney, and the love of his life. His hair turned white, and he lost his eyesight due to poisoning, so he wears a Big Red Visor in order to see. Diego Armando, his former self, is "dead." Everything that has happened to him has caused him to turn into a man as bitter as the coffee he drinks, while trying to fill the emptiness within him, and to make up for something he didn't have control over. He goes after Wright in vengeance, making him prove himself as a lawyer, only to find out Mia Fey still lives on within Wright himself. Godot vengeance is finally bright to fruition in his Third and Final case in his career as a Prosecutor, just as he wanted. And while Godot is arrested and sent to prison at the end of Bridge to Turnabout, the end of his character arc, he realizes Phoenix Wright's true potential as a lawyer. The man he once believed wasn't "half the lawyer [Mia Fey] ever was," had actually ended up being the person to bring him closure. While Godot's fate is unknown after he is arrested, even though he is in custody, the weight off his shoulders is finally lifted, and is free once again on this inside. He had been wearing a mask over his face, and his heart, and for the first time, the mask over his heart had been taken off. Godot drinks 17 cups of coffee during each day of the trials we encounter him in. Godot likely has an addiction to Hot, Bitter Coffee, because the last time he went to "sleep" (i.e his coma), he lost everything. Godot has 107 blends of Coffee. The number 107 is associated with self-reliance and self-confidence. Godot needed to save Maya, but rather than reaching out to Phoenix Wright for help, he did it all by himself, even though it meant putting his life on the line. However, he wasn't really interested in saving Maya at all. Rather than going to Phoenix Wright, the most important man involved. He was mainly trying to make up for the fact that he couldn't save Mia. The number 107 is also significant with starting over, mainly, to start over and leave your messed up life behind you, which is exactly what he did. He left behind Diego Armando, and started over, as Godot. His favorite is Godot Blend #102. The number 102 is a call to discover your purpose in life, which is what he tries to do after waking up from his 5 year coma, and becoming Godot. Godot's name actually comes from a play titled Waiting for Godot, by Samuel Beckett, in which two characters, Vladimir, and Estragon, engage in a wider variety of conversations while waiting for a man named Godot, who never arrives. These two men wait a "lifetime" in the sense that they will commit suicide if he doesn't arrive, and Godot never shows up. Similarly, Godot in Trials and Tribulations was in a Coma, and "waited" 5 years before he could see Mia fey again, but ended up being forced to wait a lifetime, as he had found out she would never come back to him. !<

Ace Attorney fancase released (Conclusion of Gramarye arc)

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 09:19 AM PST

Spoilers for Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice (kind of) for those concerned.

Hi all. Just released an Ace Attorney fancase that seeks to conclude the Gramarye arc. It's a direct sequel to Apollo Justice and Dual Destinies. You can think of it as sort of an "alternate canon" to Spirit of Justice, though worth noting is that it was written before its release (2014 was the start of the project and it's been in development hell since.)

For those of you with any time on AAO, you may remember it as the winner of the 2014 site-sponsored competition, Bright Age of the Law. It's far from perfect, but it's a labor of love, and I'm happy to say it's finally released. There are some issues--it was just too ambitious, so there are some assets missing or still using placeholders. But even so, I think you'll enjoy it if you're itching for more Apollo Justice content, especially if you were dissatisfied with the conclusion of his arc in Spirit of Justice. It's long, probably clocking in at about 4-8 hours of gameplay total, depending on if you use a walkthrough or not.

You can find a link to the AAO forum thread here, and a link to the first part (investigation) of the case here. Due to a technical issue with Google Chrome and SVG files, you need to play in Firefox, otherwise you'll get lots of graphical bugs and eventually won't be able to finish playing. Thanks, and hope you enjoy!
