(Spoilers for Dual Destinies) About a request made to Phoenix

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 04:10 AM PST

Alright, so Edgeworth requested Phoenix become a lawyer again so that the latter could help clear Blackquill's name.

But what exactly was the plan here? Phoenix gets his badge back and he just *lucks himself* into a situation where they tackle UR-1? What if the HAT-2 Launch was scheduled after Blackquill's execution? What if Aura didn't take hostages?

What was Edgeworth going to do if these coincidences didn't occur?

With my recent package, I now own the rare, but not pricey trilogy. Paid about $70 total, the Apollo Justice is brand new too! I’ve never seen anyone talk about the 2005 pc port before, didn’t even know it existed until just now

Weekly Poll [12b]: Who is your least favourite culprit from Trials and Tribulations?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 04:00 AM PST

i coindentally found Ace Attorney lore while watching Perry Mason...

    Posted: 24 Feb 2022 11:26 PM PST

an no its not Raymond's name... its a case.. who knows how many there are inspired off Perry Mason...

so, Perry Mason is a show about master defense attorney, he wins most of his cases

in one case the nephew of some guy and the guy's cheating wife try to steal money through a plan

but in the end, the nephew's friend tries to take the money, in the nephew's defense, the wife pulls out a gun (which prolly had in to first place cuz she felt the nephew was sus), the nephew grabs the gun but she accidentally shoots in the struggle, supposedly killing the nephew

later the guy calls Perry Mason and just asks he figures out the truth, and later the guy's secretary is accused, and the guy believed she really did it and says she wont need a lawyer, to which Perry says "she needs a lawyer more than ever now"

however we get to the case, and oddly there is evidence the murder weapon shot twice... but no sign of the bullet

during the trial the wife confesses, convinced she had done it

yet Perry's private investigator finds the true culprit, and as Perry expected, it was the jerk nephew was the killer, he killed his friend, and pretended he died, he went on a vacation in order to avoid being caught, and he had a bullet in his shoulder (most likely right shoulder based on where she shot), AND he has Manfred's eyebrows and that scary glare, as well as being very obviously manipulative jerk

also his friend was balding the same way Manfred was.

Similar novels with a sense of humour?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2022 08:40 PM PST

I've played all the ace attorney games, they are among my favourite games of all time. The atmosphere and light-hearted vibe really stands out among the seriousness of other visual novels.

Any recommendations for other games with a similar vibe?

Side note, I'm currently playing through Resolve, and the part where Ryu is in the coroner's office trying to distract himself from the skeleton by marveling at the display case had me actually laughing out loud. It's too good.

What is your favorite musical moment in the series?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2022 11:41 AM PST

What is your favorite moment and music combination, where the music truly elevates the moment and what comes to mind when you think of AA music? My favorite is probably when Godot says "the only time a lawyer can cry is when its all over", and trial-2004 syncs up with the text, it gives me chills every time.

In your opinion, what is the most *average* case in the series?

We've all thought about the best and worst cases before, but what case is the most "pretty good" to you?

What would be one feature that you think Ace Attorney 7 could implement in a feasible way that could greatly improve the series?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2022 09:57 AM PST

In my opinion, it might be a good idea for AA7 to implement a branching path system. Not in the way of like multiple endings per say but more like, if you present this piece of evidence to this person in this investigation segment, you get some valuable info you wouldn't have gotten till the trial. Or if you tell this witness a disturbing fact about that person's employers to them (maybe that they covered up a murder or something) you entirely skip their cross examination and instead they believe you right off the bat.

    Does Red know about Lana?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2022 01:24 PM PST

Playing Turnabout Sisters, I recalled that the despicable scum was ordering the Chief Prosecutor around. Wouldn't that be Lana Skye? Is it possible that he knew as much Gant did, or maybe even more?
