What is your favorite ship? Why?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2021 01:03 PM PST

I am sure this is probably a stupid question, but is only a research I wanna do.

I am going to mark this post as spoilers. Why? well, as how I said in the title, you need to give a clear motive of why you like this ship, if it is for this dialogue, for how certain characters act with each other, and so on.

I will tell mine, is Narumitsu, do I even have to explain? If I were to explain, I would give the same reasons as everyone already said. First, the "unnecessary feelings" dialogue, oh please. Second, in my head, they just make sense, I don't know how to explain. Third, remember, Edgeworth was the reason Phoenix became an attorney, yes? And that's all :)

(I think I probably marked the wrong flair, correct me if I am wrong)

Most heartwarming moment in each game of the series? (except the Layton crossover)

    Posted: 14 Dec 2021 06:11 PM PST

As the title says, what was the most heartwarming moment in your opinion for every game in the series? Obvious spoilers so don't scroll down if you haven't played every game.

    1. Ace Attorney 2001: Phoenix taking up Maya's defense or Edgeworth thanking Phoenix after acquitting him
    2. Justice For All: The scene with Edgeworth and Franziska at the airport at the ending
    3. Trials & Tribulations: The entire ending, especially Godot with the "a lawyer always smiles no matter how bad it gets" and "In my world, the color red doesn't exist."
    4. Apollo Justice: Maybe when Phoenix adopts Trucy
    5. Investigations 1: Gumshoe and Kay's interactions in case 4
    6. Investigations 2: Edgeworth believing in Kay's innocence and Jeff Master's (Seriously he's the most likable AA character ever) reaction to the news of him being free and meeting the son of the man who defended him
    7. Dual Destinies: Athena believing in Simon's innocence and Juniper, Hugh, and Robin making up with the friendship bracelets
    8. Spirit of Justice: Apollo defending Trucy and Nahyuta's redemption
    9. TGAA Adventures: Ryunosuke following the footsteps of Kazuma and Ryunosuke and Susato's interactions before she leaves for Japan
    10. TGAA 2 Resolve: Kazuma's revelation of surviving and Barok warming up to Ryunosuke and calling him "Mr. Naruhodo" for the first time

In your opinion, which trait is more essential for a lawyer in the franchise and why?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2021 08:53 AM PST

The title. I've been thinking a lot about what makes an Ace Attorney in the franchise, and I guess that the perfect lawyer archetype is the one that balances competence with trust. Nonetheless, if I put this option in the poll, the vast majority would vote for the "mix of trust and competence" option.

Hence, I ask: between trust and competence, which one is more important in your opinion? Both are essential, indeed, but according to what you believe, which trait should be valued the most by the lawyers in the Ace Attorney franchise?

    Turnabout Storm age range?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2021 09:17 PM PST

Hi all. I just found out that this fan made case exists from reading a thread on here and looked it up. Now, I don't care at all about My Little Pony, but I have a 6 year old who thinks it is the greatest thing ever made. I love Ace Attorney, so a crossover could be something we could watch together, right? She knows a lot about AA because my husband and I joke about it and listen to the music all the time, but obviously does not actually play it. My question is for those of you who have watched Turnabout Storm- is it okay for a 6 year old? Id love to have something for us to watch together with both of our interests. I'm not a super strict parent when it comes to censoring what she watches (like, I don't immediately turn something off if it has a curse word or a fight) but I don't want her to see like evidence of the crime scene or anything like that that you see in some AA games. I'm okay with mentions of murder but nothing specific! I'd watch it to check first but it looks like a long series! Can anyone that has watched this give me a heads up? Thanks a ton in advance!

How were you guys introduced to Ace Attorney? I wanna know your story. Comment it. I'll read all of your stories. Tell your story: .. I'll tell mine.

    Posted: 14 Dec 2021 04:31 AM PST

Not sure if it's in the correct flair, but whatever. Now to the story: This is how I met the wonderful Ace Attorney series. I never watched anything bout AA on YouTube, None of my friends had ever recommended me this series. It was the month of June this year. I never play games on my phone, but at that period I wanted to try something different. So I started scrolling through my play store. Of course now, if you wanna play some quality games in play store you just don't download free to play ones. That's why I decided to go through the premium section, & wanted to play something that had a price more that 30 SAR, & atleast a 4.5 star rating. I tried many games, I tried "Valiant Hearts", but the update was outdated. "The World Ends With You", that too, was the same case. "Bendy & The Ink Machine", game felt too difficult. "This War of Mine", it got boring in less than a week. I tried to find & find & find.. until- in 19th of June, 2021, that one game came up. "Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney".. oh boy.. I'm so glad it did.

    ...* THE MAIN PART* - 19th of June, 2021.

The thing that made me wanna try this was the developer, Capcom. As they're an original Japanese team & a good one with famous games like Resident Evil & so, I thought that the game's objective was probably to fight different opponents with behind the back strategies & discovering the tutorial yourself, as one would imagine an open-world anime fantasy virtual verse simulation would be. Now that's nothing like Ace Attorney, but remember, I hadn't played the game yet. I downloaded it, & played it that night. At first I didn't realise what was going on, & when they introduced Phoenix as Apollo's first client, I wasn't surprised. Why? You'll find that later in the story. Hell, I didn't even realize I was in a courtroom until Apollo and Winston started throwing "OBJECTION"s at each other, & of course, the Judge's non-stop gavel smashing. ...... Boy, I was so disappointed when it turned out to be nothing like what I imagined. I thought about deleting the game right away. Man it would've been such a regret if I did. I would've missed an entire masterpiece of a franchise. But for some reason I kept playing the game. & that's when the best part kicked in-- finding contradictions. I had to figure out how the cross-examination system works for about 40 minutes, & after lots of penalties & about 7-10 guilty verdicts, I finally understood. & that's when the fun kicked in. Starting from simple case to the last one unleashing all the mysteries of the past case into the last one, too much fun. ...

    Now, to our question.

When they introduced Phoenix as Apollo's first client, I wasn't surprised. Why? It's very simple, actually. I thought that AJ:AA was a solo installment. It was when I just started Turnabout Serenade, that I google the name of the game. & as the description said- "Series: Ace Attorney". I thought: "There's more?" I googled the series, & that's when I saw- the Phoenix Wright trilogy. I was shocked. "PHOENIX HAD HIS OWN GAME?!" that's when I researched more, found out there was a remastered trilogy, & two post-AJ games, also with TGAA Duology (or chronicles). In other words, I had no idea that there were past games with Phoenix as the playable protagonist. & THREE of that. The rest is, well, history.

& that's how I became a boy with no idea of the AA series to a diehard fan of it in just 6 months. Story was too long. Sorry for that. Now comment yours. How were YOU introduced to the Ace Attorney series, how did you start? I'll read all of your stories. I'm very eager to know.

My Thoughts on "Reunion, and Turnabout" After Finishing DGS2 (JFA: Case 2)

    Posted: 14 Dec 2021 03:00 PM PST

    Brief Introduction

This case, from what I've personally seen, is fairly divisive in the community. A lot of people like the case a lot, some thinking that it's a top 10 maybe even top 5 case in the series. Then there's other people who put it in the bottom 10 and think it's an extremely boring case that doesn't deserve the "great and interesting" status that's given to other cases. Maybe after reviewing it over, I'll gain my own perspective on this issue and gain my own answer if "Reunion, and Turnabout" is worthy of the upper high tiers or if it's down right a bottom 10 case.

    Case Overview

This case already starts with an amazing intro, it's different from any other case and it takes a dark twist. Picturing a car crash and a girl mourning the death of somebody else, and what seems to be an act of revenge. We see Maya and Phoenix talking in an detention center and things look bleak (this is the 2cd time already why). We also get to meet the actual victim before he's dead, Dr. Turner Grey, which is a first for the series and makes it really interesting due to this.

Wright, willing to see Maya again after a long time after having gone through a long Damon Gant Filled trial and a trial that shouldn't exist, obviously takes up Grey's offer on going to Kurain village. We walk around but then when Maya goes to do the channeling stuff, GUNSHOTS GO BOOM BOOM and we find Maya soaked in blood. Grey's dead and Maya is once again in need of being questioned over and over again and the cycle continues.

This case is also the starting point of a couple new characters and gimmicks, Psycho Locks are always interesting and fun to go through. We also get to meet Tiny BABY Pearls who admittedly, I don't like as much as the other assistants we've had in the series but I still do like her quite a bit. We also get to see Morgan Fey, one of the most vile human beings on planet Earth who's motives get revealed later as the games progress. Ini Miney is also a great character who people don't usually give enough respect to in general, and Franziska Von Pharma is interesting more due to what we've went through in Turnabout Goodbyes. Lotta Hart is fine here as well.

I also really enjoyed the investigation, while not as great as it is on the later days, it's still really interesting knowing the circumstances of the murder and learning about Turner Grey being an absolute pain. It is bogged down a bit since it's not the most fun area to explore though, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it.

The trial segments are also great, if not a bit too long lasting though. Having to confirm everything Lotta said and having to press her on literally everything is still absurdly annoying, but it ends up paying off as we do get to know who actually did it by getting Lotta's 2cd Photo. This is also (iirc) the only case that Gumshoe has an Allegro testimony playing during the trial which is strange, but also interesting. This case does start to pick up due to the bullet hole shenanigans and finally managing to prove Franziska HA HA WRONG, but it still isn't enough to put the nail in the coffin.

The 2cd Day is what really gets me going though, the case starts becoming more and more dark as there's talks of car accidents, malpractices, Morgan's hatred for Maya's mom (and what ends up happening to Misty Fey and leads into the usurpation plot), and loads of heavy topics. But this is also Justice for All and we haven't even gotten to Farewell, My Turnabout yet HAHA.

We also get to learn about the rules of the Fey clan and how messed up it is, which is the ignition point for probably the most beloved case in the franchise. We also get to learn about Pearl's big OOPS and Hart's existential crisis which is completely out of left field for a joke side character but is welcome anyways. Also the "HMMMMMMM YES" scene is memorable and I hate it but I can't not smile remembering it. The mystery about why Morgan Fey would help the true killer get away with it.

The Trial is also great in general, Learning about how messed up Ini Miney is and the circumstances around the murder. How she would've seen the killers if the room was so dark, how the box plays into it and the folding door. A lot of this mystery is really well thought out and fun to go through, especially the twist that Grey didn't die instantly from the stabbing. We do get roadblocked by the actual motive though, and the final few testimonies are related to the car accident and Ini Miney's mess up. She does become a very interesting killer, as she was blamed for the malpractice incident bc Turner Grey is a butthole. She was so overworked and exhausted from her job that she fell asleep on the wheel and killed her sister by total accident, it becomes really sad and heartbreaking, but at the end of the day she still is a murderer.

    Likes

    • Killer is Great
    • Lead up into Bridge to the Turnabout
    • Actual Murder is complex and interesting
    • Franziska's 1000 whips
    • Morgan Fey
    • Ini Miney's mishaps and how much of a scumbag the victim is

    Dislikes

    • This case can be really dragged out at the beginning, which makes it really unenjoyable to play for some people

    Verdict

This case is Great, from the atmosphere to the murder to the murderer. It sets up the most importance case in the franchise brilliantly and introduces a couple of staples to the series. Albeit if you're not really into the setting and the characters, this case can feel like a long slog especially with the addition of Maya being the defendant again. But overall I had a great time with this case and I think it's worthy of being a higher tiered case.
