That Awkward Moment when the prison system is Ace Attorney cares more for human rights and actually "correcting" inmates than IRL American prisons

    Posted: 18 May 2021 09:42 PM PDT

Warden Roland is a human rights hero. She tries to rehabilitate the inmates by having them bond with animals, and the program seems to work wonders. Similarly, prisons in Nordic countries also treat their inmates humanely, and instead of American prisons where inmates learn to be worse people from how dangerous gen pop can be (or worse, how they lose themselves if they go solitary), they come out as better and less dangerous people.

Steam says it's officially on its way: The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

If you could be friends with only one person from the Ace Attorney universe who would it be and why?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 01:08 PM PDT

I'll go with Maya because there would never be a dull moment with her. But there's obviously a lot of good choices. My second choice would be either Pearls or Gumshoe. Pearls is just so cute and Gumshoe is funny and would always have my back.

    Villain tier list *HEAVY SPOILERS*

    Posted: 18 May 2021 10:33 AM PDT

    Capcom appreciate post.

    Posted: 18 May 2021 06:42 AM PDT

I was thinking about it the other day and Capcom has been on an absolute roll for the past couple of years. It's honestly the first time, I think, that a gaming company that I've basically lost all hope in somehow managed to turn everything around.

Basically, everything after RE7 was dope af. RE7, DMC5, RE2 Remake, (it's too bad RE3 Remake was relegated to being like a budget title), new Street Fighter 5 characters like Dan and Rose are actually super cool, Monster Hunter World and Rise are both awesome, and RE8, while i was kind of not feeling it at first, actually ending on a high note for me, etc.

Now, they're releasing Dai Gyakuten Saiban to the west in A. a physical release, B. both games in one set, and C. for 40 dollars. Like, holy shit.

On the flip side at Nintendo, they're releasing famicom detective club, right? Both games are 60 dollars plus there's no physical release (that I know of).

Iono. It just feels like Capcom's doing everything right from a game development standpoint as well as really getting what their fans and customers really want. That is all. Have a nice day.

    How to forget a spoiler?

    Posted: 19 May 2021 12:05 AM PDT

I know this subreddit isn't about this, but I accidentally got a spoiler on one of the games that I would REALLY love to forget, is there any way to do that? Also, if not, is there a way to avoid spoilers in the future?

Me, my brother, and my friend finally finished Spirit of Justice, so we made a tier list of all the cases we played so far. Can't wait for The Great Ace Attorney in July!

    Ace Attorney RP?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 05:09 PM PDT

Does anyone wanna do an Ace Attorney RP?

I have a number of characters I'd be willing to play, all I ask is that you're literate and write at least a paragraph per response if you can

This doesn't have to be romance, it could be more plot-driven and our characters could just have a platonic relationship.

You can play a canon character or an OC

Characters I play, amount of ❤️ is how much I'll want to play them currently:

    Maya Fey ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Pearl Fey ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Iris Hawthorne ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Dahlia ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Mia Fey ❤️

    Viola Cadaverini ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Kay Faraday ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Ema Skye ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Franziska Von Karma ❤️❤️

    April May ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Athena Cykes ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Lana Skye ❤️❤️❤️

Why isn’t there a single black character in the original trilogy?

    Posted: 18 May 2021 11:44 PM PDT

I can only think of three that are even a little bit darker than white - Frank Sahwit, Juan Corrida and Godot. It would make sense if the game took place in Japan, but it takes place in the United States, where a lot more black people are to be expected. I am not saying the games are racist, but then why aren't there any black characters? (I only played the original trilogy so please don't talk about characters from the other games).

Without Spoiling Too Much, is there any official ace attorney cases within another medium (anime, manga) you would like to see adapted as a playable case.

    Posted: 18 May 2021 12:35 PM PDT

When I read "Turnabout With the Wind" (English translation) it went by way too fast and it confusing to understand how phoenix came to the conclusion he did. Turnabout Express was fine but I feel like it just derailed one mystery to focus another mystery leaving the former unexplored that much.
