News update for everyone - user /u/ThatsAnotherJ has joined the mod team and will be making some changes and updates to the subreddit's design. These changes will mostly affect the mobile and New Reddit interface, fixing a number of features either available on the Old Reddit version of the sub or broken entirely, such as the character icon user flairs.

Watch this space for potential updates on the features to be implemented.

Have been following the recommended order, and just finished PL vs PW: AA, just wanted to say how much I appreciated it

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 09:46 PM PST

(Not exactly sure how to add the flair to categorize a post about one specific game, flair doesn't seem to work, I probably don't understand it, but hopefully I'll figure it out).

Without saying too much, I just feel like I really liked the game.

-I thought the ending was poignant. -There were cut scenes that remind of the anime, actually, it was really cool! -I remember playing a bit of the Layton games as a kid, but this game was a good introduction to that series. I think I would want to play/watch more of those games. I'm interested in the Layton/Luke duo you know, I would really like to see them interact with more of the Phoenix crew you know, (I think him and Edgeworth would get along really well)

-I think this game really subverted my expectations based on his settings, although perhaps that could be typical of Professor Layton game, I don't know....

-Characters were really memorable! Barnham is more memorable a prosecutor to me, than perhaps even Payne, (sorry Payne) -And the questions it left me with....

I just really wanted to know what other people thought of the game. I know that it's not as popular/well-known as some of the others in the PW series, but I'm still curious to see what the fandom thinks about them

What do you think is the most underrated AA music?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 07:51 PM PST

I'd say mine are Dane Gustavias theme Great final boss-like type theme and Shi-long Lang's theme (I just think it's really cool)

If the Ace Attorney had physical and magical combat powers, what would they be and why?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 05:12 PM PST

If Ace Attorney was an Action-Fighting Shonen series that involves battle power or a fantasy-medieval fighting game that involves the usage of combat techniques, which do involve the usage of physical and magical attacks. What would they be and why?

To me, I feel like the Ace Attorney cast should be suited to both Supernatural Martial Arts techniques that learned throughout the land, and using that energy to battle the opponent as they proceed. Each weakness comes every different foe in battle, sometimes even reaching to people that stronger by the level. In terms of their strength, position, and organization they are vested in.

    The fuck?!?!

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 05:36 PM PST

Haven't enjoyed the series since original trilogy but i keep trying to get back into it.

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 04:49 PM PST

I loved Ace Attorney one when i got it on Ds. I loved how unique the gameplay was, i loved the twists and turns. I loved the characters.

Justice for all i really enjoyed to, felt like more of the same but it still felt fresh and interesting to me.

Trials and Tribulations took a long time to come to the UK and the hype i had for it was unbearable. But it took so long that when i finally got it, i felt like my excitement for it had gone. For some reason i found it a chore to play and started to notice how samey the games were. Years later i came back and finished the game and now i appreciate it a lot more for its ending.

I bought Apollo Justice hoping a new character and story would mix things up. Yet i found it even more samey.

Im currently trying to finish Dual Destinies at the moment and i just cant enjoy it like i enjoyed the older games and its really frustrating.

I just feel like im replaying the same game over and over. The twists and contradictions feel recycled.

I dont have a problem with text heavy games and danganronpa and Persona 5 are some of my fav games.

Whats wrong with me? Is it my fault? Or is it the games fault for not innovating and becoming stale?

    Has anyone else had this?

I've never played Ace Attorney and my girlfriend (who loves the series) asked me to make this with my complete and utter lack of knowledge in the series.

Just played the first case of trials and tribulations again

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 08:26 AM PST

was reminded how much I loved this game but, I've always found the decision of Phoenix's characterization in college to be so strange and hilarious. I guess they were going for that but there's something kind of genius about the fact that he was actually as much of a goofball as the people he defends.

You'd think they would go for a chance to delve into Phoenix's past again but upon some further thought it makes sense that we've already kind of gotten his origin story and this case is really more about Mia. Very interesting choices.

It's just so funny that he's this whipped stupid art student with this fucking "p" on his chest. How does he become the straight man he is in the rest of the games lmao

    Athena Cykes Ace Attorney [update]

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 06:54 PM PST

Heya. I know my last post about this fanfic hasn't had a lot of upvotes or comments, but I'm happy to announce that I was able to develop cases base info and a new assistant. Not begging, but an upvote says a lot to me to continue this. Also, I'm open to criticism so I can improve.

I was not able to create the Payne case yet, so an update will come.

New assistant: Joey McBooster. Athena meets him in the case after the Payne tutorial. Brother to Pearl Fey, Joey didn't know they were twins until 2 years ago, when they noticed a resemblance and performed a DNA test. Joey's father divorced Morgan after realizing she's evil, but in the custody battle, Morgan got full custody to Pearl and only on weekends to Joey. Joey was interested in the Channeling Technique right from the beginning he went to the village and trained every weekend. Unlike the other men in the Fey Clan, Joey can get small messages now and then from the spiritual world and keep a channeling for 1 hour with the help of some gadgets he created. He also upgrades widget, who gets a magatama shard, getting Athena to see Emotional Psyche-locks.

2nd case: News of a Turnabout

The victim is Joey's father: Marlo McBooster, CEO to the Booster Newspaper company. He was killed in his own office inside the building. The defendant is a very familiar prosecutor to Phoenix and Edgeworth: Franziska Von Karma. Von Karma spent 5 whole years out of the prosecutor's office to a trip to self-knowledge, returning a few months ago. Franziska is suspicious because: according to security cameras, she was the last one to leave the crime scene and the murder weapon was her whip. In the detention center, Athena sees that tho Franziska is still arrogant, but she doesn't care for winning and has made peace with the demons inside her to a point she is confortable speaking about Manfred and how he treated her.

    3rd case: Party and Turnabout

This is kind of a comic relieve case that takes place in a Drag Nightclub in the fictional Los Angeles who the interior reminds a lot of the Executive Suites and Micky's. The victim is the host of the parties at Mumba Tumtra, Galaxy Stone (stage name to Jake Rhine). The defendant is Galaxy's daughter, Sunlight Stone (stage name to Chad Miller). Miller is suspicious because he had a very serious fight with the victim in the night before regarding tips and drinks. Also, Sunlight's signature leather and lace glove was found "holding" the knife.

    4th Case: Happy New Turnabout

Athena is invited to Edgeworth's New Year Party at his rich and big apartment. Everyone is there: Phoenix, Apollo, Trucy, Maya, Pearl, Franziska, Blackquill and Edgeworth (obviously). When the fireworks start exploding, a shot is heard in the building's entrance hall. The victim is Stacy Gollen, a very rich woman. The defendant is the building's security guard, Brock Sainne. He is the acussed since the bullet found inside the victim's body matches Brock's shotgun.

5th case: (can't figure out name yet)

A cop (Trent Troller) is found dead in his own house, and the suspect is his own father. To prove Mark Troller's innocence, Athena will have to get through the mess that Trent's autopsy report is and get to break Mark's 5 Emotional Psyche-locks to the question "do you know who the killer might be?", but don't worry, he isn't the killer, just oddly related to murderer.

And that's it. I haven't put anything about the killers because I don't want to give any other spoilers (even tho this isn't the permanent script). Again, give me the criticism I need to improve and if you are reading until here, thank you.

Something which, has a french person, make me laugh way more than it should in trial and tribulation

    Posted: 09 Mar 2021 02:00 AM PST

In the past when diego armando is all flirty with Mia and lively and passionate he has a spanish name. But innthe present when he become all moody, melancolic, and let's be real kind of an asshole he become Godot a name from a famous french theatre representation. Like depression has turn him french x'D.
