Well, I decided to use the color palette of the ace attorney versions of pachinko and I was surprised by the result, although I had to change the eye and lashes a bit.

I actually like the Samurai turnabout

Granted, I've only played it once, but I enjoyed that case. I don't understand why it gets so much hate. I thought it was interesting.

    This Character is Good

    Posted: 18 Feb 2021 04:23 PM PST

Wendy Oldbag is one of the most disliked characters in the series. However I feel that people are rather hard on her. I will be making my case (heh) as to why she has brilliant writing.

Wendy Oldbag first appears in Episode 3 of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Turnabout Samurai. She is the security guard who was on duty during the death of Jack Hammer. She also is a security guard in Episode 4 of Justice for All, Farewell, my Turnabout. At first glance, Wendy Oldbag is a rather obnoxious lady who won't shut up about "kids these days." On close inspection, you'll find that she is one of the more human characters in the series.

Defense Point 1: Wendy Oldbag has had a sad life. I don't mean she's been abused or witnessed death but she has had to watch stars rise and fall. We know she has been a fan of Global Studies for as long as Hammer worked there. She's also mentioned how she used to be in a few movies. From this we can gather that Wendy has spent a lot of time following Global Studies. Watching all these people become stars only for it to be stricken away from them couldn't be good for her mental health and must have given Wendy her distaste for the youth and shown her just how fast time has passed.

Defense Point 2: Wendy Oldbag is almost gone. Wendy Oldbag has been around a while. We can assume she's at least Manfred von Karma's age. As such she knows that her time is almost up. She's clinging on to stars most likely in an attempt to feel young again. Notice how she admires younger stars and clings to them like a teenager. She's searching for a time when she had no cares in the world.

Defense Point 3: Wnedy Oldbag is clingy. Remember back to when Wendy was chasing Cody Hackins. After she failed, she huffed and puffed like there was no tomorrow. You couldn't get anything out of her until offering the card that grants access to Studio 1. When offered this card she mentions that she was his fan. She runs off to pay her respects, never to be seen until JFA. She spent her whole life admiring Hammer, maybe it was showing what she needed in life. Maybe Wendy just needed to love and feel loved.

Wendy Oldbag is a strange character. She's like an omelette. On the outside, she's rather bland, but she lights up if you look past her exterior This post maybe won't change your kind on her, but please reconsider. You may find that she is very likeable.

I (shittily) drew a vine to show the more comical and tamer ways that Edgeworth was punished in his childhood.

(Spoilers for 4-4) A sketch I did that relates to an AU fanfic series I'm currently writing.

    Posted: 18 Feb 2021 06:51 PM PST

Link to fanfic, if you're curious: https://archiveofourown.org/works/28776480/chapters/70566426
Context, if you're curious, though it's spoilers for the fanfic.

What's going on here is a comparison of two times that psyche locks were triggered- when Phoenix Wright asked why Kristoph killed Shadi Smith during 4-4, and in the fanfic when Apollo asks a question on the stand pertaining to what Zak Gramarye told him after the poker game.

If you're wondering what's on Kristoph's face in the second drawing, it's a breathing mask due to events in the fanfiction. Also, sorry if the chains or locks look bad, this was more a sketch if anything. If you can't read the text it's respectively "Why did you kill Shadi Smith?" and "What did Zak Gramarye tell you after that poker game?"

    On spoilers in this subreddit

    Posted: 18 Feb 2021 01:12 PM PST

    Hey everybody!

I've been recently noticing a trend of obvious spoilers in here, which has been pretty annoying. Usually they go like this:

Someone says something like "Wow imagine an ace attorney game where the murderer was the power of friendship all along"

And then some genius writes "(Ace attorney 42; The revenge of Payne) He doesn't know lmao "

Like gee, I wonder what's written behind that spoiler tag...

Obviously there's no such thing as Ace attorney 42, but hopefully you understand what I mean. I see this kind of comment thrown around a lot, especially with a certain case in one of the games.

If Capcom were to release an AA7, what would you change from the second trilogy?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2021 03:07 PM PST

The two big issues I had with the second trilogy (primarily Duel Destinies and Spirit of Justice) is that they don't know how to mature characters or give out plot twists.

When we see a character from 7 years ago (Larry, Maya, Pearl, etc) they should show signs of maturity considering they've been growing for 7 years. Pearl has the maturity of a 9 year old despite being 17 because the creators were... afraid of fans being upset maybe? Same goes with Maya and Larry where their personalities are exactly the same.

The other main issue is that plot twists are always given away too early and without any command from the player. When we find out Bobby Fulbright is the Phantom, it repeats the same sentence multiple times, which basically tells us the twist instead of letting us figure it out for ourselves to give us the achievement of problem solving.usually they make the protagonist has an inner monologue that tells us the twist. They should really do away with this, as it dampens the impact. What would you personally change about the next Ace Attorney game?

Does AAI android support google play games?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2021 10:05 PM PST

I completed AJ recently, and I'm going to move on to AAI. However, my tablet is currently being repaired. So, I was thinking maybe I could play it on my brothers tablet until mine gets fixed, since he doesn't use it much anyways. However, this has a problem: Save data. Apparently the only way to transfer save data (other than transferring the files themselves via Google drive or something similar, which can get messy) is via Google play games. So I was wondering: Does AAI support google play games? If not, I'll just wait.
