Things in Ace Attorney's timeline that feel fake, but aren't

    Posted: 19 Feb 2021 08:31 PM PST

Hi, I'm Caitlin and my hobby is overthinking fictional universes.

    • Hugh O'Connor, Regina Berry, Klavier Gavin, Kay Faraday and Sebastian Debeste are all the same age, and all of them are a full year older than Nahyuta Sahdmadhi.
    • Simon Blackquill is only one year older than Maya Fey.
    • Excluding the flashback case, everything in Ace Attorney Investigations (the first one) takes place over only three days.
    • The accident that "killed" Thalassa Gramarye was only one year before the start of the first game.
    • It's generally accepted that PLvsPW takes place in the canon month-long timeskip mentioned in T&T case 3, which would justify why Phoenix was unavailable and missed Maggey's first trial. We know that T&T takes place mostly in 2018, with cases 3 and 5 taking place in early 2019, and we see also on the night of the final trial (in PLvsPW) that the moon is full. The full moon of December 2018 was on the 22nd, meaning that the Storyteller was exposed and Layton and Phoenix (with their respective companions) returned home just in time for Christmas.
    • Judging by his design in that game, Luke Triton is 13. This makes him only two years younger than Apollo Justice, which would make him 22 years old by the time of Spirit of Justice.
    • Apollo himself was 13 years old during the first game.
    • Kristoph Gavin is the same age as Larry "Laurice Deauxnim" Butz.
    • Larry is apparently supposed to be one year younger than Phoenix and Edgeworth, but in AAI2, he's listed as 26, the same age as them. I'm fairly sure that when he appears in AAI, he's still 25, and the two games are separated by only two weeks, meaning that Larry's birthday is in late March or early April. It's possible that his birthday is simply earlier in the year than Phoenix or Edgeworth's.
    • The age gap between Lamiroir and Phoenix is the same length as the age gap between Phoenix and Maya, as well as the age gap between Apollo and Trucy.
    • When she gave birth to Apollo, Thalassa Gramarye was the same age that Phoenix was when Trucy was born.
    • The assassination of Queen Amara of Khura'in happened when Phoenix and Edgeworth were 12, and only three years after the DL-6 Incident. Maya was 5 and Mia was 15.
    • Queen Amara herself is only two years older than Thalassa Gramarye.

Feel free to add more, as I'm sure there's plenty that I've missed.

What killers do you think had an actual potential in character development, but were "killed off" by writer?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2021 09:11 PM PST

I choose (3-2) Luke Atmey and (4-1) Kristoph Gavin.

What Ace Attorney couple are you pretty sure that you and only you ship? (Within the bounds of legality and sanity)

As the title says, what combination of characters in this big wide Ace Attorney world are you pretty secure in being the sole flagbearer for?

I'll lead with one I thought up literally yesterday: Frank Sahwit / Cammy Meele, the chronologically first (in the "present" anyway) culprits caught by Wright and Edgeworth respectively, who both happen to be opportunistic killers whose cases revolve around statues as well.

They can strike it up in the penitentiary seeing as Frank's still alive in AAI2, to boot!

Here's the better logo For The Fan Game: Apollo Justice : Ace Attorney 2 Perceive the Truth, since the first one had a typo, if you want to support the development, I'll put a link on the comments and add a developer for the game, u/elcrizz2001

Gyakuten Kenji 2/Ace Attorney Investigations 2 spoilers ahead, a question regarding The Grand Turnabout

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 12:04 AM PST

How come the Mastermind didnt just dump the body into the river, (my memory is hazy of the map of the area, so i cant remember how close they were to it). I dont they needed to carry the body back to the tower after freezing it.

Best Let's Plays that actually react/give their opinions on events happening in the games and not just read the text aloud?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2021 06:16 PM PST

I really enjoy Nyancave and NintendoCapriSun's level of talking. NicoB is on the very edge of "STOP READING AND TALK" for me.

I hate people who just sit there and read the text while """Voice Acting""", but with text heavy games thats what you get from 90% of Let's Players.

An interesting observation about Justice for All's deaths and tragedies

    Posted: 19 Feb 2021 02:28 PM PST

While it may be because there are only four cases it's interesting to note that every death (and I mean EVERY death/tragedy so not just victims) in Justice for All is completely different and with unique circumstances.

    Lost Turnabout-

    Dustin Prince: Death by falling

    Reunion, and Turnabout-

Ini Miney: Burned to death via vehicular homicide

14 Patients of Grey's clinic (kinda cheating but referring more as one incident): Medical Malpractice

Turner Grey: Shot in the forehead (can also count stabbed as well)

    Turnabout Big Top-

Russell Berry: Bludgeoned to death from falling object

Sean Dingling (Bat): Mauled by a lion

    Farewell, My Turnabout-

    Juan Corrida: Strangled to death

Celeste Impax: Either snapped neck or also strangulation but it was self inflicted through her hanging suicide and no one else was hanged.

While the other games have repeat deaths: AA1-Cindy/Mia AA3-Valerie/Elise AA4-Meraktis/LeTouse AA5-Almost everyone was stabbed AA6-Again a lot of stabbings AAI-except for Case 2 and one incident in Case 5 everyone else was either shot or stabbed AAI2-again a lot of shootings and stabbings.

Haven't played DGS1/2 so maybe they break the mold there.

If a Japan Only game like TGAA releases again, how would you play it?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2021 01:07 PM PST

Yes I know TGAA translation is confirmed, but I don't want to make the title million characters long.
