Question about why Kristoph acted the way he did through the end of 4-1 (Apollo Justice spoilers)

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 08:23 AM PDT

TL;DR: Why doesn't Kristoph point out the forged fifth ace in a more accusatory manner instead of just getting annoyed, and bring down Wright with himself?

Hey there. I had finished the original trilogy some months ago and after a break I decided to continue with the series and I recently finished Apollo Justice. All in all, I enjoyed the game and of course there were some headscratchers as with every other Ace Attorney game. Some of them were overlookable for narrative purposes such as what the MASON system was supposed to represent, or how did everyone get convinced about Machi committing a murder that was physically impossible for him to do, BUT something about the first case just doesn't add up and kind of cheapens the main antagonist.

I'm talking about the point where you present the forged fifth ace. Why the hell does Kristoph not insist that the presented evidence is forged? He knew he was screwed so why not convict Phoenix with forgery along the way? In game explanation does not make sense in that regard. One could argue that his reaction to that evidence practically gave him away, instead of the evidence itself but doesn't the game make a huge deal out of "decisive evidence" concept? Even if he thought that he could weasel out of that one without admitting that he took the real card, he could make his accusation after his fate is sealed which would spell the doom for both Apollo and Phoenix.

I figured that this might be a regular question here but I searched for older discussions and I couldn't find any. Am I missing something here?

    Questions for English-speaking players

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 07:09 AM PDT

For my Japanese skill, my Asian-ass had benefit of playing this game in Original Japanese version(all of them, so far)

But reading the Wiki(which was tremendous achievement indeed) made me feel kinda strange...I'm not sure about some of their English names, because...well, those characters are obviously Japanese. Steel Samurai, Fey clan costume, tradition and stuff. But some characters had awesome names, I give them that.

Does that bother you or make you feel any weird? Or it's totally ok?

(For me, especially 'Fey' clan sounds strange. They got their village name straight, and that means they knew turning them chinitos into gringos is quite weird...)
