ANNOUNCEMENT: Weekly Community Polls, beginning on Saturdays!

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 10:50 PM PDT

So, carrying on from recent stickied discussions about Reddit's poll feature, and the rather large number of very similar polls that have been posted on this subreddit since the feature was added, I'd like to make an announcement for /r/AceAttorney.

In cooperation with user u/Wuscheli0, we will be featuring weekly community polls on this sub's front page, with a new poll going up each available Saturday. These polls (hosted on Strawpoll, rather than Reddit's rather limited poll feature) will cover a broad range of frequent topics, from "favourite prosecutor" and the like, to more specific ones like "favourite Pursuit theme", and more. Discussion of each poll's topic is welcomed and encouraged in each weekly thread, as will discussion of ideas for future poll subjects.

Something important to note: The start to these threads will be accompanied by a partial update to the subreddit's rules, intended to trim down the number of very similar poll threads that are posted. User-created polls will not be banned outright, but some may be removed if they are identical to topics already covered or planned in Weekly Poll Threads.

Just finished Investigations 2. Has anybody made this meme yet? Minor spoilers for Ray Shield's character.

Just a question about stuff I've seen.

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 05:36 PM PDT

Hey, I was mostly wondering if anyone knew what program/application people use to make those shitposts of the characters talking about like wether or not soup is a drink for like 6 minutes. Is it obvious or am I being an idiot? Thanks

Not so great but a little continuation of the Pokemon x Ace Attorney. Just a few reactions and the primal Groudon/Kyogre fusions. (Yes I am in the right subreddit)

    Cheating

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 08:23 PM PDT

I have a question guys, but a little context for starters. Sometimes when I lost in a middle of a case I cant remember all the evidence I have already presented, so I use a guide only uo get yo my previous point, Would it be considered cheating if I keep doing this?

"Thanks (for protecting me back there)" I made this short Narumitsu comic after I played Turnaround Goodbyes and I thought it fits here. I'm not sure if the sub is ok with ship posts but I hope you like it! (Miles is supposed to be drunk if I haven't made it very obvious)

Ranking culprit themes in each game

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 01:19 PM PDT

I'm not gonna count reminiscense themes or themes that play for more than one character and I'll only count culprits you take down

AA1 Damon Gant is the only one

JFA unless you count dekiller none of them have one

    T+T Atmey > Tigre > Godot > Dahlia

AJ none of them have one unless you count the music in Kristoph's cell

Investigations: Alba > Yew > Cammy

    Investigations 2: Keyes > Gustavia > Roland

VS I dont remember it having any

    DD L'Belle > The phantom

    SOJ Retinz > Atishon > Ga'ran

DGS doesnt have any elegance and excellence plays for both Jezail, Hosonaga and Petenshy and The music for megundal plays for Megundal, and Chrogray

DGS 2 Petenshy > Mamemoni > Hart Vortex > Enoch Drebber > Courtney Sithe

I looked up other opinions on this case, never did that before. A lot of people make points that I don't agree with or care about. Primarily, I don't care that much about the writing of characters one way or another, I found it okay.

Mostly my issue is the "gameplay." Every previous case, except for one or two things here and there, I was able to deduce by thinking things through or making educated guesses. The game gave me enough to think things through. And except for the lunch lady in 1-5, I have never "lost."

I lost like 30 times in this case. It's complete nonsense. The murder is nonsense. So he put a big box below his window, with just pepper in it, and then dropped, with a rope, a big heavy object that just happaned to look like Max, and the ringmaster just happened to steal Max clothes for no reason whatsoever, and the cape flew up and hung on backwards?

Further, at one point when asked about what occurred six months prior, the following evidence does not work: the lion, Bat (the brother), the scarf. The only thing that works in response to "what happened six months ago" is the pepper shaker? I mean as a "twiiist" its...neat. But in terms of logic it's complete nonsense, it should be a follow up to an explanation of what happened, not the lead in. In previous trials the game would have punished me for leading with that before the circumstances were explained.

Then the bust being under Acro's wheelchair. that is dumbest thing I've ever heard. So what if there was a raid? Hide it in his wheelchair, then take it out of his wheelchair after. Why would he keep an object heavy enough to kill someone in his wheelchair as he wheels himself around? why would he bring it court? it makes absolutely zero sense. zero. I had to go through so many options before picking that cartoony nonsense.

I really hated this case. The characters, as I said, weren't that annoying to me. The cop in 1-5 who keeps blasting his alarm (that sounds just like my apartment building firealarm) forced me to mute the game and was way worse than any character here. But the gameplay and deduction previous cases had went completely out the window in favor of zaniness and twists

What is going on in the subreddit photo?

Maybe it's because I'm on mobile, but the subreddit icon is just a Reddit head with white shoulders against a black background. I'm not sure how that's ace attorney related...
