r/AceAttorney just reached a total of fifty thousand subscribers!

Only four months since we hit forty thousand, too! The momentum this community has seen since the newest Phoenix Wright Trilogy remasters released a little over a year ago has been great to see. We hadn't even cracked ten thousand yet back in late 2016, when Spirit of Justice came out. I don't think there's any need for anyone to worry about this series' future right now. I'm pretty confident in saying that the fandom is bigger than it's ever been, and still growing at a healthy rate.

Thrilled to have you all here!

    Edgeworth is Misunderstood

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 01:25 PM PDT

So, in the beginning of the first ace attorney Edgeworth is presented as a slimy prosecutor who will do anything for a conviction. However, I kinda had a thought. What if Edgeworth was so focused on his conviction because of just how sure he was that he had the real killer? We see in Ace Attorney Investigations that Edgeworth is heavily involved in the investigative process and even goes as far as to clear the name of people he does not believe are the true killers. He's a very thorough investigator. So maybe, once Phoenix beat him for the first time, or even the first few, he began to realize even he could be wrong no matter how thoroughly he investigated? Just an idea haha

    Hey, so... Uhh

Am I the only one who actually really likes Phoenix wright vs professor Layton?

Like, it's not my favorite of the franchise but it's pretty darn good. Specially the 3rd case, that one's actually INCREDIBLE. Also, the prosecutor is great, the interactions between the two game characters are really fun, and while the overall story isn't really...believeable, it really works for me, since these games are always kinda goofy like that.

I've been re-playing all of the phoenix wright games (haven't gotten my hands on the AAI and DGS spinoffs), and I'd probably place it at 3rd.

Maybe recency bias has something to do with it, since it's the last one I've replayed, but damn, I think people really under-sell it

Phoenix is a god damn saint to deal with Rayfa shenanegan for so long!

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 12:01 PM PDT

Yeah! I know it is not realy her fault, it is because of her father and mother Education... So yeah he is right to taking the higher moral position of being nice with her, and try help her understand the errors of her thinking... But Gosh! she is insufferable during 6-3 x). Even knowing it wasn't her fault i think i wouldn't have master the will to actually be nice with her....

One thing I don't get about Elise Deauxnim (original trilogy spoilers)

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 08:41 AM PDT

Misty Fey (was being spoiler-conscious in the title). Why did she never visit or contact Mia and Maya? Mia became a lawyer to find out what happened to her so she clearly didn't know where she was. In 3-5 Elise/Misty seemed to be doing okay in life - she was a popular author and there wasn't anything about her which would communicate a reason why she had to stay away from her kids.

Maybe her desire to avoid the public eye was so severe she couldn't even physically be around her kids. That's fine, but clearly her Elise Deauxnim persona was convincing enough to not raise suspicion, so why not raise them while pretending to be Elise to the outside world? Or better yet, why couldn't she just keep in contact with them while living her other life?

Maybe I forgot something that explained this but this honestly sounds kinda cruel and uncool. Ever explained why Misty didn't just abandon her daughters but outright refused to stay in touch with them?

Where to get discounted Dual Destinies???

    Posted: 10 Jun 2020 10:51 AM PDT

I was devastated to find out I missed out on Capcom's huge spring sale this year, as I really wanted a copy of Dual Destinies and can't afford normal price. I know that Capcom has that Spring sale that happened in April, but is there another one that might be happening soon? I've been longing to play DD for years now and just about to give in. Anything helps! Thanks!
