How the next AA game will probably play out

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 06:42 PM PDT

-The game has 'Phoenix Wright' in the title but he's only playable for one case.
-Apollo returns, as well as Athena, Trucy, Maya, Pearl, Edgeworth, Larry, Gumshoe, Franziska, Simon, Kay, Klavier, Nahyuta, Ema, Moe the Clown, Penny Nichols, Solomon Starbuck, Juniper Woods, Ellen Wyatt, Frank Sahwit, and inexplicably, Viridian Green.
-New prosecutor who physically abuses the defense, and is not the murderer but has a redemption in the final case.
-Also one new recurring character who is just annoying.
-One case involves a murder of a pachinko manufacturer on top of Mt Fuji, suffocated with mochi dough.
-Overarching story is hamfisted, and relates to every single new character, as well as one of the main cast somehow.
-Voice acting in random spots throughout the game.
-Courtroom mechanics include magatama, bracelet, mood matrix, divination seance, forensic analysis, logic chess, joint reasoning, closing argument, multi-witness testimony, thought route AND a brand new mechanic that involves some mysterious aspect of life.
-The defendant in the first case is a recurring character who shows up for no reason later on.
-Gumshoe (or some other major character that hasn't yet been accused of a crime) is a defendant in a case.
-There are 5 cases, 2 DLC cases, 5 asinine attorney DLC cases, 17 DLC costume packs, and the ability to pay real money for hints in testimonies.
-There are 1 or 2 filler cases that are super jarring but are actually the best cases in the game.
-The final villain is the king of the world, who murdered 89 people and is the size of an elephant. Their breakdown involves earth-shattering explosions that rip across the country.
-The game will revealed in 2023 in Famitsu, following several unmissable TGS shows that revealed the Switch port of Apollo Justice HD, a PS5/Series X port of the trilogy, a Stadia port of the trilogy, and a HD remaster of Ace Attorney Investigations 1 only for smartphones.
-The game will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X, coming to Switch and PC a year later. It will cost $59.99, or 4 bucks on the app store.

Ok Am I the only one who find it ridiculous how they've raised the stake so much for each Trials in Spirit of justice?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:15 PM PDT

I don't know how controversial is this opinion, and I am only at the second investigation but come on...

Like at first it was Wright Life on the line (still find it quite ridiculous to be honnest and it transform Payne as a lazy goofball kinda bad at his job, into a complete asshole ready to lie in court and kill Phoenix and an 9 year old kids just so he could have a Petty revenge against Phoenix.... I mean what the hell?), Now it is Trucy's life and The whole Wright and co Company...

Will each new investigation be like that?

Why Reunion and Turnabout should've been in Trials and Tribulations

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 09:19 PM PDT

The Second Case of Ace Attorney Justice for All is one of my favorites from the series I've played so far. But after finishing the final game in the original trilogy I felt this case would feel so much in place as being Trials and Tribulations 2nd or 3rd case. First of all this case connects with all of the themes and Ideas of Bridge to the Turnabout. This Case felt extremely out of place in Justice for All's more ridiculous and funny atmosphere. I feel like Recipe for Turnabout would've fit better in JFA then Reunion and Turnabout did. Just a thought I've had and was wondering if anyone felt the same.

    spoilers for JFA and T&T

So I learned about AA Pachinko and that this song exists as part of it. So by all accounts, this is a AA song. It's great, but it feels like it belongs in a battle shounen.

Fic writers and artists: Summer Wright-A-Thon starts today until 21st June!

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 12:15 PM PDT

Hi Ace Attorney fans, did you know that Ace Attorney fandom is home to the longest running kink meme on the internet? 10+ years and we're still not dead! Twice a year we do a Wright-A-Thon where all prompting is frozen for two weeks and we encourage filling of existing prompts with fic and art. This summer, it starts today and ends on 21st June! So if you're a writer or artist, head on over and pay us a visit for a decade's worth of inspiration from games past and present! You'll find us at http://pw-kink-meme.dreamwidth.org

If mature content is not your fancy, there's plenty of fluff and gen prompts to choose from, with and without pairings! Our longstanding and dedicated volunteer updaters will be tracking all the new fills posted over the Wright-A-Thon and posting them over on Anon Press under special banners made by fellow fans. If you'd like to read or view the amazing content created during the Wright-A-Thon, you can keep track of it all by visiting http://anon-press.dreamwidth.org or following on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/anon_press_aa

We deliberated whether to run the summer Wright-A-Thon this year with world events affecting people in all kinds of ways, but decided to go ahead coupled with a little wider advertising. Thanks for your time!

The trilogy remasters are worth it

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:11 AM PDT

Wow I'm getting massive nostalgia from these remasters. It's so strange seeing everything so clean and on a big screen. I do like how smooth everything is and I'm so glad they kept the original music. As a long time fan of this franchise it's definitely worth buying if you played them before. I still have my DS collection in the case and I hope they port 4,5, and 6 to switch too. Wouldn't mind investigations either. Anyone else feel the same way?

Just got the trilogy on Switch, having a graphics issue

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:42 PM PDT

    Hey!

    Just started the trilogy, I'm a first-timer

It's pretty great except for the fact that there's these random white flashes. I thought it was for emphasis/effect (like the screen-shakes) but it feels like it just kinda happens randomly. I've tried turning off the screen-shakes in the options menu and it happens anyway.

Someone recommended I try turning off the Switch and turning it back on, then deleting and reinstalling the game if it still doesn't work, saying that there could be a problem with the Switch itself (which was a gift from last Christmas) or the microSD card (which I just received as a birthday gift :/ )

I'm reinstalling the game now but I can't imagine it being a problem with the Switch itself, I've been playing all kinds of games and haven't had any issues whatsoever.

    What do you guys think?

IMPORTANT UPDATE: After doing literally everything I was told to do to fix the issue, I decided to look up a stream of the game, which has the exact same issue.

So apparently my freakish overly-sensitive senses are the problem.

I just wasted an hour and a half trying to fix something that isn't broken.

A question about Ace Attorney Trilogy

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 09:42 PM PDT

I had looked up the torrents for Ace Attorney and got the one for Ace Attorney Trilogy as a single game ... Is it literally the first three parts of the franchise combined or is it a different thing? If it is the first three parts combined then can i safely begin this franchise with this Trilogy game?

How important to the story of Ace Attorney and Professor Layton is Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 02:55 PM PDT

I just finished playing through Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and am starting to play the fan translation. I see that after the fan translation will come Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright, and I had a few questions about playing this game.

First, how important is knowledge of the Professor Layton games? I generally like to play every game in a series in order, but as it currently stands I haven't played any of the Professor Layton games, and while I'm sure they are good games, I don't really want to put my playthrough of the Ace Attorney games on pause.

So my first question is: How much of the story from previous Professor Layton games does it spoil? While I would like to play the next Pheonix Wright games shortly after I finish the current one, I'm aware that doing so could spoil a lot of the Professor Layton franchise, which I'd prefer not to do.

And, if it does spoil the Professor Layton series, how skippable is the game? Would the Phoenix Wright games after it (being the dual destinies games and possibly the untranslated japanese games from later on) end up spoiling the game?

What would all of you recommend as the course of action I should take here?

Thank you for reading all of that! Sorry if this question has already been answered somewhere, but I wasn't able to find the answer to that question anywhere, but if it has been asked before, I'd appreciate a link to where it was answered.

Something I've never quite understood about Ace attorney 4 Apollo's justice

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 10:36 AM PDT

Why was Zack Gramarye so hostile to Phoenix in the first investigation?

I mean shouldn't he need him at this point of the story?

Do 4-6 play better on iOS or 3DS?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 09:39 PM PDT

I'm referring to Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice.

Since they're on sale on the 3Ds eShop, I could get them on the eShop for a little less than they'd cost on the iOS App Store. If it makes a difference I'd be playing on either a N3DS XL or an iPad Pro 11" running iOS 13.

    thanks!
