    "Look, a lawyer!"

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 02:09 PM PDT

    "That's a defence lawyer."

"So? What's the difference? You need to stop judging things based on narrow-minded cultural assumptions, Step-Nick!"

"R-Right... sorry." (Why do I feel like someone out there has had this exact same conversation before, somewhere...?)

What if there was a video game about Phoenix Wright?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 10:21 AM PDT

Ok here me out on this but what if someone made a video game about Phoenix Wright and his cases?

I know what you're thinking "A game about someone's life as a lawyer isn't that interesting" and when it's like that yeah it would sound boring but Phoenix has had some interesting points in his life and his career. The first case he took up was when his best friend was accused for murder and he managed to catch the killer in just the first trial! A video game about law doesn't seem that interesting, but with Phoenix's life story, I think there could be the makings of a great game.

Adrian Andrews as a foil (spoilers up to 2-4)

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 04:24 PM PDT

(Side note; I'm writing this mere minutes after the information i'll be discussing is brought up. which means that i have NOT finished this episode yet, so i apologize if I miss anything that may seem obvious to you)

!This has spoilers for Ace Attorney and Ace Attorney 2! I'm not gonna be spoiler tagging anything, so please don't read on if you don't wish to be spoiled!

Is it just me or is it REALLY easy to interpret Adrian Andrews as a parallel to both Phoenix and Edgeworth? I mean, the MOMENT Edgeworth started explaining her history, Reminiscence ~ Classroom Trial started playing, while he went on to tell Phoenix that once Adrian "finds somebody she can trust unconditionally, she follows them blindly". with music in the background that is NAMED after one of the key moments in Phoenix's decision to become a lawyer, and blindly run after Miles for the following 15 years?

But then on the other hand there's also lines like "Her super confident attitude... its all a façade. She's only copying her mentor's behaviour to hold herself together" and "She doesn't seem like the kind of person to try and kill herself" "You think she's a strong career woman? That is just her image. Adrian Andrews... she has a certain secret she's always trying to hide." that just kind of SCREAM 'Edgeworth' to me. Especially since he's disclosing all of this after "returning from the dead" after having left a message that was interpreted as a suicide note by many people.

I mean... is it just me?? Is it really just me??? I'm known for reading into irrelevant things way too hard and miss obvious things, which is why I'm sharing my thoughts! Maybe you thought the same! Maybe you think I'm a foolish fool, foolish down to my core! Who knows? I dont! Maybe Edgeworth's analysis of her is off and he's projecting instead!

Will the next game NOT raise the stakes anymore? *Spoilers*

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 03:41 PM PDT

It's not like Capcom isn't following the typical Takumi-formula by simply raising the stakes at the final case of the game. The writers just raise the stakes based on some heinous character with a poor motive. Example: Ga'ran envy and takes the throne with no spiritual powers and that reveal takes her down. That's it.

And I feel Capcom does a VERY poor job at executing these right because they have no idea what to do with them. It's like, that character is evil so they're evil. Or Apollo is in this story because we don't have anything to do. Or a new attorney joins the WAA, they have their own tragic "DL-6" case with their own dead parent to blame, and the prosecutor-like Miles Edgeworth being their sole rival connection.

And the worst thing ever that the recent Ace Attorney games do is that they create tension in very rapid-fire and having a huge scale. In Dual Destinies, it was the Dark Age of the Law. Caused by Mr. Phantom and Kristoph. Instead of that, the law can be exploited by Furio Tigre or something like that. And Yamazaki's story of putting Apollo in Khura'in by Ga'ran destabilizing the nation just to get it was hated by so many because it deviated away from what it originally supposed to be. And also, the DC act. Yeah...

So if the next game is about the Moon crashing. I'll be sad. But please, do you think Capcom will raise the stakes in the beginning of the next game or will they take a different approach to the narrative?

Aren't cross-examinations in AA a contradiction in itself?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 02:38 PM PDT

When a witness tells their testimony we usually proceed to the cross-examination. However, the actual cross-examination seems like we are interrupting the witness while they are testifying. Also, the witness usually ends their sentences in a way that it connects to the next statement section. That creates the impossibility of us knowing the testimony in whole before making an objection to one of the statements in the testimony.

Just finished the first game. Case 5 was the best!

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 12:46 PM PDT

Also it was the more complex and really liked that this time the defendant was half gulty.Marshall best guy and we must all agree on that. Grumshoe wasnt my thing in the beginning than later it start to grow on me.Same ad Edgworth. One thing i didnt like it was the way to move between places. Its a bit cluncky hope in the next games it gets better ( i have the trilogy version)
