    Like instead of being a meme tutorial prosecutor, she should be the main prosecutor of a main-series game. It'd be a funny contrast to the male members of her family.

    In your opinion, who is a better writer for this series? Shu Takumi or Takeshi Yamazaki?

    I mean, I like Yamazaki for what he did in Investigations & 2, which were some of the best AA games and where all my writing inspiration comes from. However, Shu Takumi remains as my favorite talented writer in this series compared to those that replaced him after AJ. Because I think the recent Ace Attorney games loves to create tension in very rapid-fire, or having a huge scale, like the whole Dark Age of the Law and Lawyers dying if they lose, that shows why I prefer Shu Takumi as a writer over everyone else in Ace Attorney, he'd rather pace everything until the final case in which he creates Drama in that final case, while Yamazaki loves to hype everything in every case, create tension in the first case, he did it well in Ace Attorney Investigations 2, he didn't execute it well in Dual Destinies or Spirit of Justice, he raises the stakes in the beginning of the game, while Takumi raises the stakes in the final case of the game.

    Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Yamazaki at all. He did sort of great with his recent games and stuff. I really like complicated characters like Simon Blackquill, Athena Cykes, Nahyuta Sahdmadhi, Ema Skye, Amara Sigatar Khura'in, and Rayfa Padma Khura'in. They are great characters in my opinion that feel they need more work on compared to the characters that we know all the way back.

    How are the AA characters celebrating Valentine’s Day?

    It can be shippy, platonic things, or maybe something else! Here's some of my ideas:

    •Klavier gets a ton of Valentine's Day gifts in the mail but he's only paying attention to Ema who is actually wanting to be with him today

    •Phoenix and Maya are trying to hang out in secret while avoiding Trucy and Pearl, who are making it their mission to make it the most romantic day for Phoenix and Maya

    •Gumshoe and Maggey are having a date even with the little amount of money they have

    •Edgeworth doesn't want anything to do with today but is watching over Gumshoe and Maggey's date (while hiding from Oldbag)

    •Larry hangs with Franziska who doesn't want anything to do with the holiday either but Larry tries to cheer her up himself, buying roses and the like (sometimes resulting in a whipping, blushing, or both)

    •Apollo and Athena are keeping it simple with their date, seeing how everyone else's day is going and laughing together at their situations

    •Blackquill is watching over Athena like the big brother he is and making sure Apollo doesn't do anything to hurt her feelings

    And finally

    •The Judge is watching over everyone and is happy that everyone seems to be enjoying themselves on this day

    Since we have a valentine's day let's take a moment to apreciate moments of love-related badassery in the series

    For me the biggest one would be the moment from the SoJ-DLC when Sorin, with a hole in his belly, walks on the side of an airship, to save his girlfriend from Dumass. And succeeds. Whatever else can be said about that case, it's hard to deny that the moment was pretty impressive.

    Ace Attorney is a series that has very little focus on love (at least a romantic one, familial and platonic is a different story), but the few times when it appears it's generally done right. Are there moments of love, whether platonic, romantic or familial, that impressed you? Please share.

    Does anyone know where these Apollo’s poses are from?

    I was checking some sprite galleries and came across a few Apollo sprites that are, apparently, from SoJ, but I don't recall when they are used. Its an alternate pointing pose plus a leaning one. Ring any bells?

    Seems like an alright day for a bit more shipping discussion than we usually have around here. So, in this thread, feel free to discuss your favourite potential (or canon) pairings from the cast, with one caveat: the three "main defence lawyer x main rival prosecutor" pairings generally considered the most popular in the fandom should be omitted, if you can stand it. Those three include:

    Phoenix x Edgeworth, the obvious most popular pairing in the series in nearly every branch of the fandom

    Apollo x Klavier, the most popular Apollo pairing on average

    Athena x Simon, the most popular new pairing Dual Destinies introduced

    Absolutely no offence intended to fans of any of those three, of course (I'm even a fan of the latter two!), but I'd just like to more strongly encourage discussion of other, less overwhelmingly popular choices.

    Do try and keep this thread civil, OK? I don't want to have to go around removing comments.

    So, for my own:

    Apollo x Ema is one of my favourite pairings in the series, and definitely my top pick for a pairing involving Apollo. I also enjoy content pairing Apollo with Athena, Klavier as mentioned above, sometimes Pearl, and occasionally Aura, though that last one leans less toward romantic and more toward a friendly, casually-intimate relationship, considering Aura's obvious feelings toward Metis.

    Phoenix x Maya is my number-one favourite potential pairing in the series. I considered also banning it from this thread, but it felt unfair to Phoenix to cut both of his most popular pairings when Athena and Apollo only had one each. Anyway -- I can't personally imagine seriously pairing Phoenix or Maya with anyone else.

    In recent times, Athena x Trucy has actually taken over as my favourite Athena pairing.
