The man responsible for the whole franchise (AAI2 MAJOR SPOILERS)

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 12:40 PM PST

Dane Fucking Gustavia. This man wanted to make some cake and cure his illness. He got threatened by Isaac Dover and lil Simon got trapped in that lil ass car. If Gustavia stayed his thicc ass home and not done anything then a lot would have happened (Actually nothing would happen)

Gregory would never have died if this murder didn't occur. Which means that Miles would not have gone"edgy". Von Karma would never have killed anyone. DL6 never happened. Misty fey would have stayed her thicc ass home too. Mia would never have died since she didn't investigate DL6 and Redd White.

Its crazy how much this one man did to the franchise

Are we one step closer to victory?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 05:53 PM PST

Alright so I don't wanna get anyone's hopes up here but this tweet left by the nintendo vs account says that resident evil spirits are coming to smash, and it has some of people's biggest picks for resident evil smash characters, regardless of how you feel about spirits in smash you have to acknowledge that this means DLC fighter 5 won't be from resident evil, there's not much in the way for Phoenix now as far as capcom reps in my opinion

TLDR; dlc 5 is not resident evil, so maybe it's Phoenix?

    What do you guys think?

My "Social Media Part 23" post got deleted. Why is that?

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 03:22 PM PST

Genuinely confused. I've been making this mini-series of posts for like 2 months now, and suddenly my recent one got deleted.

Does that mean mods no longer allow them or..?

Why Trucy keeps showing her magic panties in DD and SoJ

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 11:49 PM PST

I've figured it out. It's because at the end of AJ, Apollo said he likes them more than Mr. Hat.

How justice was served in 1-2

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 04:32 AM PST

How does the trial begin? You seem to be winning the case (Mia couldn't have written Maya's name since the autopsy report stated she died instantly), but Edgeworth updates the evidence.

How does the trial end? You seem to be losing the case, but you discover Maya's name was written on a receipt for the glass stand, and you update the evidence.

    What a turnabout.

So I'm replaying that tediously long (But entertaining) case 1-1-5 & I was wondering what composition are Angel Starr's lunches? Are they all supposed to be forms of sushi?

[T&T Spoiler] question regarding the final case

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 06:26 AM PST

If Godot got his knife injury from dahlia hawthorne retaliating, how on earth did it get under that mask? He was obviously wearing the mask as maya recognised him because of it. Is there something obvious I missed?

AAI2 Might actually be the reason for why the Newer Games are more formulaic and bad

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 03:43 PM PST

Edit: So this argument is actually pretty shaky, as the writers wouldn't care about the English market. Also, I do not hate either DD or SoJ. I just think they are more formuleic. They are still really funny and have good cases.

NOW BEFORE YOU COMMENT ANYTHING I do not belive AAI2 is bad. In fact, I'd say it's one of the best games, only getting beaten by DGS.

The reason why I believe AAI2 "ruined" the franchise is because it wasn't translated to the U.S. The writers probably REALLY liked those story arcs, and because the international audience didn't get to see those plot points, the writing gang get to re-use them without anyone noticing. (Except when AAI2 got fan-translated)

Here are some plot points that both the newer Ace Attorney Games (DD and SoJ) took from AAI2:

Sebastian Debeste: Debeste was initially an annoying idiot that no one loved until it was revealed he was actually a lovable idiot with an abusive parental figure. This was re-used with both Hugh O'Conner and Rayfta Shadmadi.

A Mastermind behind the entire game: I was actually surprized to look back at Ace attorney to realize that it was only until Investigations 2 that there was a trend of masterminds behind the entire game that would be "someone you would never expect." Every other game after that followed this formula. When AAI2 did it, it was very cool because we literally didn't expect it because it was the first time they tried something like this. Kristoph Gavin doesn't follow this trend because he was revealed in the first case and only was related to the final case. Neither does Matt Engarde, since he didn't really mastermind anything. Every game after AAI2 (besides the DGS titles) tried to do a mastermind plot, and after SoJ, we all expect it and it's no longer predictable. Everyone predicted the Queen to be the mastermind. She's the one who rules the land OF COURSE she's the mastermind. Another problem with this mastermind twist is that all they are is a twist, and nothing more. The reason why Keyes was so popular was because he was a very interesting character even without the twist. He had a lot of grey morality going for him. (The fact that all his targets were all terrible people, the fact that his only murder was technically self defense, etc.) As for the other masterminds, they didn't preform as well, ESPECIALLY Queen Garan. I still like the Phantom, but I can see why people find him 1 dimensional and wasted potential.

Now, AAI2 isn't the only game these two games take from, as there are other things these two games copied that are from other games:

Miles Edgeworth as the Prosecutor: Now, if you look at the first four games of the series, you can see that each prosecutor is unique and distinct. Even Klavier Gavin, as bland as he is, is very different from the other prosecutors. Now look at Simon Blackquill and Nayuhuta Shadmadi. Lets start with Blackquill. Blackquill is a cynical prosecutor who used illegitimate means to get his clients guilty, and turns out to be the childhood friend of the MC and is the defendant for the final case. It turns out that Blackquill is not that bad of a guy and becomes good and is buddies with the MC. Now doesn't that sound familiar? Now one COULD say there are some differences between him and edgeworth, including their sense of humor and the relationship dynamics between him and his "childhood" friend. However, I believe that the simmilarities outmatch the differences, and that no other prosecutors in the first 4 games had this level of similarities to each other to be called a copy. Now, if I called Blackquill a copy of edgeworth, I would call Shadmadi a direct ripoff of edgeworth. Not only is he all the things I listed with Blackquill, but he also removes any differences Blackquill might have had and rips off the entire Von Karma arc with how he was taught by queen garan and that's why he's so evil but at the end of the day he rebels against her, the final murderer of the game.

The Stakes Being Really Big and MC takes down a powerful foe: Now, the first time the stakes were really big was in AAI1 where edgeworth takes down the presidnet of Idontcarewhatthisstupidmadeupcountrysnameis because of an international smuggling ring. This was seen again in Ace attorney investigations 2 with a presidential assasination, however, the mastermind wasn't the cause of the powerful stakes, rather a witness that was affected by it. Also, Edgeworth didn't really "stop" the assassination or improve Zheng Fa, so I don't really count this, but ever since that game every mainline Ace Attorney game had Wright DIRECTLY stop a big bad that affected society, whether it be the """"Dark age of law"""" or stopping a country from being garbage by taking down THE GOD DAMN QUEEN ALL BY HIMSELF. These large stakes honestly are just too unrealistic and just make the game feel more childish, and not in a good way. I feel like a good example of an ace attorney game having big stakes would be DGS. Big things are happening in that game, but you don't really cause it directly. Instead, your actions as a regular lawyer indirectly affect the larger scale of things, which is really cool.

Well Anyway, that's my opinion as to why DD and SoJ aren't as well liked.
