British AA fans, how do you feel about The Great Ace Attorney's portrayal of England?

    Posted: 21 Sep 2021 10:17 PM PDT

From the characters, settings, music, language, etc... I would love to know British who have played the Chronicles to put in their two cents about the Victorian Era in GAA

Does anyone else think "'Scuse Me" seems out of place?

    Posted: 21 Sep 2021 09:33 PM PDT

This is such a tiny, stupid thing but idk it just seems too informal for the court setting and time. Ryu seems like a polite lad, so I figured something like "Pardon" it even just "Excuse Me" would work better.

Idk it's such a small detail but it bugs me lol

Time for the Logic and Reasoning Specatular! *Puts on auto, goes and does something else until the correction section starts*

I get that it's likely to be funny or something but as interesting as the Logic and Reasoning Specatular's are they're so long to go through almost the same thing twice. Maybe when I replay the game sometime down the line I'll actually sit through them and see if I missed anything worthwhile.

If there had been a proper AA4 sequel, how would it ideally be for you assuming Phoenix would still have to come back as a main character?

    Posted: 21 Sep 2021 01:26 PM PDT

Dual Destinies, love it or hate it, for better or for worse, is not really much of a successor to the game that preceedes it, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. Ignoring most of the previous games' elements and characters and feeling almost like it's trying to be a soft reboot. And althrough it does attempt to give Apollo a role in its overarching narrative, it is mostly through a new plot element in Apollo's dead childhood friend Clay Terran rather than in any aspects of Apollo's character from AJ:AA itself that could have been followed up upon.

Now, let's say that, again, for better or worse, we did get a different AA5, one that did attempt to be more of a sequel and follow up to AJ:AA, but let's also say that for marketing purposes, they still have Phoenix come back as a main, playable character. How would that game ideally have been like for you?

Does Phoenix run/bike to court with toast in his mouth like an anime protagonist?

Not gonna lie, he gives me anime girl vibes sometimes

Commissioned this artwork of Susato from my artist friend who hasn't played an Ace Attorney game yet and just wanted to share! I think she did a wonderful job! (Minor DGS/TGAA 2-1 spoilers)

As someone who is very much in favor of the original trilogy, I must say this about Spirit of Justice

    Posted: 21 Sep 2021 11:11 AM PDT

To me it has the best opening case out of all the games. And I don't mean best as in it's my favorite opening case because I'm still very much of the opinion that the original trilogy is a masterclass. But strictly speaking about opening cases, if I have to be unbiased I must say that Spirit of Justice's opening case is the best just off of how insane it is. To begin a game with a case where you wager your life on the innocence of your client is pretty nutty and I love it. So despite how much I favor the original trilogy, I wanna give credit where credit is due towards the post-trilogy games (in this case Spirit of Justice). Kudos!

Did Ray not do his one job when he defended her?

    Posted: 21 Sep 2021 06:35 PM PDT

At Case 5 in Investigations 2, Ray Shields took over as Patricia Roland's defense attorney, and there was a point at the beginning of her trial where the prosecution's evidence turned out to be missing. The Judge in charge of that case made a ruling that there would be no pause, and was about to give an easy day to the defense, but that was when Ray, the defense attorney, raised an objection against the Judge giving an easy and technically legitimate win (because the court was giving it to him) on a silver platter, and that makes me think, did Ray at that point fail as a defense attorney? Defense attorneys are meant to give their clients the lowest or least worst form of legal penalty as possible, if not acquit them from all charges, and many times they defend the lowest of the low, and they often don't defend because they personally support their client, but because that's a role in society that needs to be filled and because we have human rights. Won't it be really bad for Ray's law firm if potential clients learn that the defense attorney in charge of it will "stab them in the back" if he feels a personal obligation to do so?

Even if what Ray did was morally right, it was legally wrong and against his duties as a defense attorney, IMO. If a defense attorney (not a public defender, mind you) doesn't like a [potential] client, don't defend them, simple enough.

Which Prosecutor could take on Defense attorney, Edgeworth, and have the best chance of winning?

    Posted: 21 Sep 2021 03:29 AM PDT

Left out the Von Kamas because we already saw this play out and Manfred is a monster of a Prosecutor.

Does anyone else miss the 2-D style in past Ace Attorney games?

    Posted: 21 Sep 2021 10:28 AM PDT

So I absolutely LOVE the 2-D kinda style in the past Ace Attorney games... but ever since the game Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright, the games have been getting more 3-D looking, and it's driving me crazy! Now I know I'm probably the only person in the entire Ace Attorney to think this, but does anyone else agree? Disagree? I just really miss the 2-D style in past games.
