Do you think capcom will remake all the ace attorney games?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 06:43 PM PDT

Now that the 3ds has been discontinued, i think they should rerelease all of the games. While many people didn't like it, i thought appolo justice was pretty good and id love to see a remastered version. They should honestly remaster all the games.

Initial thoughts after finishing Ace Attorney Investigations 2

    Posted: 24 May 2020 12:55 PM PDT

Before I jump into it, I'm going to be using the Fan translated names when referring to characters, will be doing my best to avoid spoilers without a spoiler tag, and won't be touching on the negatives in the main post (given I can only think of like 3 total). TL;DR at the bottom.
I finished AAI2 last night and wanted to just throw my thoughts out there. It is by far, the best-written game in the series that I've played (I have yet to play the TGAA games). Every twist and turn is already in place and doesn't feel forced. They're all things that you can figure out yourself if you sit down and think about it for a moment.

For example, when (Final case spoilers) it's revealed that Knightley was Dover's son and Simon is the mastermind, you realize all the clues they left in place that could lead you to already know that. Knightley's ring and Dover's seal both being snowflakes (then never show you the rin until the end but they say that it's a snowflake), Simon saying that they were the only friends each other had growing up, and so on.

And actually, on that note, the main villain is simply amazing. They one of the vilest, most despicable villains in the series and they are really able to make you hate them. But at the same time, they manage to be one of the most sympathetic villains as well. You actually end up feeling bad for the same person that makes your blood boil.

Given, all of the characters in this game are fantastically written. After seeing the character growth of Sebastian and Judge Courtney I really, really hope we get to see them come back in a future game. I think my favorite part of their growth was how human it felt. It's clear that they are beginning to see the world in a different light, but even at the end Sebastian is trying to come up with a special nickname for himself and sees himself in competition with Edgeworth, and Judge Courtney is still coming to grips with simply being human and not beating herself up over trying to protect her son.

The thing that boggles my mind is that Capcom has said they have no plans to localize the game. Given that was in 2011/2013 and it doesn't appear they've mentioned it since. I feel like with the rise of the Switch, now would be the perfect time to localize it and I really hope it's secretly in the works.

Anyway, that's pretty much my flow of consciousness on how wonderful this game is. There are plenty of things I didn't touch on, the way it ties into previous games and gives more info into Edgeworth's father, the way the game toys with what "the truth" really means, etc., but suffice it to say, I love this game.

TL;DR: This game is fantastic. If you've not played it, you should. The characters, story, and gameplay are some of the best in the series and I can not fathom a reason Capcom wouldn't want to localize it.

The standard for a let's play

    Posted: 24 May 2020 09:48 AM PDT

Recently, I heard a guy who's a self claimed Ace Attorney's fan said that all let's play of Ace Attorney should die because he thinks that the let's player never give any thoughtful criticism and instead just reading the texts. He also said that the voice acting, especially man voicing female are just bad.

Now, let's play have such a huge part in my memories that I felt to say something about this.

Here's a fun fact about me: I discovered the series through a NCS let's play. At that time, I was bored so I decided to find a new series to watch and then YouTube recommends me to an Ace Attorney's video by NCS. At first I thought: "The art looks nice, I wonder what's kinds of game is it? " And ever since that, I got hook into the series.

What make the let's play fun was their commentary and what their thoughts about the game. It's like when you want to show something you like to your family, friends,...

Now sometime, it does frustrate me that they finish a case then said:" All right,we'll play the next case at bla bla bla ". You get the picture. It does come off at they have to do this like a must do list and that take away some off it magic but you can't force them to do something for your sake, it should be their decision. The player are playing game, not writing a review about them.

I also noticed that let's player are just scare that fans will raise their voices to their opinions. Most let's play that heavily talk about their opinions usually get backslash for having an unpopular one.And so, they wants to avoid controversy.

Any way, that my two cents about this. What're your thoughts about this discussion, should let's play have a certain standards.

Has anyone here played the Harvey Birdman game?

So I watched the recent did you know gaming video, andI found out that apparently Capcom made the tie in game, and it was heavily based on Ace Attorney. So, has anyone here played it? How similar is it?

PW:AA Trilogy on PC: Glitched achievement?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 09:21 AM PDT

So I was trying to get the last few achievements on a second run-through of the game. One that I was especially not looking forward to was Lunchbox specialist, due to the sheer size of the case. I replayed it up until the final lunchbox on the final investigation day in the prosecutor garage, but it's not unlocking. Anyone know why this could be?

My best guess would be that for one of them, where you have to give the wrong answers, I saved and reloaded for one of them, but all guides I looked at said that it was across save files. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone feel guilty on missing out AA's funny dialogue just because they skip text too fast?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 12:26 AM PDT

I am always eager to know the truth and want to skip to gameplay ASAP. Therefore I ending up text skipping too much just to reach cross-examination. Its a shame as I only have a glance through some of the dialogue instead of fully appreciating its humor? Does anyone feel that way?
