What's the general consensus on Thalassa Gramarye?

    Posted: 09 May 2020 05:02 PM PDT

While waiting for AA7, I am actually wondering what Thalassa might look like. Will she have the Lamiroir attire, will she have the dress in the locket, or will she look different?

Okay, to the point. What do people generally think of Thalassa as it currently stands? Or do people just want her to tell Trucy and Apollo, but aside from that people don't think much of her?

In my opinion, Thalassa is... okay. I don't particularly dislike her and I think she does what she needs to do, but I don't feel that attached to her. She's just... okay.

What do you think the better case 5 is?

    Posted: 09 May 2020 07:56 PM PDT

DD easily has a better case 5 it doesnt waste half the case with cival trial stuff Phoenix gets back too how he was in the trilogy during 6-5 but is more stable in 5-5 the investigations are balanced doesnt have an obvious killer doesnt have garbage prosecutor development and doesnt have a stupidly obvious killer unlike 6-5 although 6-5 is still great

Concerns about Athena Cykes's role in Ace Attorney 7? *Spoilers*

    Posted: 09 May 2020 05:30 PM PDT

Okay, so what are your big concerns for Athena Cykes if she's going to be a big player here in the next game in the mainline series and why?

I think it's giving her the same treatment as Apollo. Making her story be connected to Phoenix and Apollo's story. Oh, Athena has a connection to Khura'in to which Apollo's story was there? Great! Let's do that. Oh! Now we learn that the Fey Clan members also have a connection to Athena which has also been in Phoenix's story? Great! Let's also do that! And then we make a huge legendary case based off of on everything! That'll be perfect!

I feel like the Wright Anything Agency is one big unlucky family.

    DGS Case 2: a Writeup

    Posted: 09 May 2020 10:24 PM PDT

So, following some considerable delays, I sat down to wrap up the second case of The Great Ace Attorney. It was an unusual episode, for sure.

I felt that the first segment dragged pretty badly, but following the first To Be Continued screen, things picked up to a nice pace all the way to the ending. Meeting actual-historical-figure Sherlock Holmes was a lot of fun, too. Here are my various thoughts and remarks, in approximate chronological order, like last time.

    • I can tell I'm gonna like Anime Holmes already

    • Hold on, actual hands in the first-person perspective of an Ace Attorney character? Now you're just breaking the rules

    • If this game finds a way to have Ryu bumble his way into a murder charge in every case, I'm shocked by how OK I think I'll be with that

    • And so, tragically, Asougi is whisked away to join the Dead Mentors' Hall of Fame

    • Seriously, though, Ryu's doing a fantastic job of getting himself accused so far

    • Chat with a professor from your university, murder charge. Hide in your not-boyfriend's luggage to stow away on his international sea trip, murder charge. Not even Maya has such consistency

    • Presenting evidence while upside-down is very disorienting

    • People guessed early on that Susato would be one of Maya's ancestors, but based on how she keeps throwing Ryu around the cabin, I'd sooner think she's related to Athena

    • Suddenly upside-down Sherlock Holmes

    • I'm not alone in thinking that this game's script can ramble on way too much, right? Like, in terms of actual cross-examination gameplay, Case 1 wasn't that long. The characters sometimes just talk for three times the number of text boxes that they need to

    • We interrupt this investigation for a short lesson on buoyancy

    • Hello again, Detective Bleeding Mouth what the fuck happened to you

    • So, do you suppose Hosonaga just can't drop the habit of holding his arm up in his waiter pose now that he's picked it up, or did he just always do that, making him the perfect choice for an undercover role as a waiter?

    • Never disturb a man when he's in the middle of performing his own theme music

    • So it was a cat. That's a very cute one, too -- puts Shoe to absolute shame.

    • Is there... is there going to be a trial in this case? I'm beginning to think there's not.

    • Some mentors are bludgeoned to death with clocks. Some mentors are indicted on murder charges. Some mentors trip over cute cats and break their necks.

    • No, Mr. Holmes, I don't care if you think there's more to this. As far as I'm concerned, Asougi died tripping over a cat. Case closed.

    • Everyone was on drugs. Just like the Layton crossover.

    • A Russian speaking English in this scene just shouted something in Japanese.

    • (I feel like I've seen it somewhere before.) ... Yes, Ryu, that's because it's just Athena's earring recycled with some extra bits attached. Prop department ran over-budget, hey, guys?

    • So no trial, then. Interesting. That's what was meant when people said that this game breaks from the series' formula?

    • Also, this ending was incredibly sad. All kinds of memories from the ending to The Golden Court from the Layton crossover coming back to me.

    • Ahh, excellent. I can see it now: The Great Fraudulent Attorney. A perfect new title.

    A question about a certain character's mother

    Posted: 09 May 2020 12:49 PM PDT

Miles Edgeworth. Now plenty of characters don't talk about their moms (Phoenix for instance), but I take particular interest in Edgeworth because of how he was adopted by Manfred. Like, is Edgeworth's mom dead? If not, did she just allow Manfred to take him away?

DGS music appreciation - BEST character theme

    Posted: 09 May 2020 10:28 AM PDT

I just finished the original trilogy

    Posted: 09 May 2020 03:38 AM PDT

I can't express how perfect the ending was. The pursuit theme from AA1 starts playing as Godot finally sees that Mia's spirit lives within Phoenix, as both of them arch their arms back then launch forward like we seen all those times before, but this time they did it together. And the fact that Godot was even mad at the end. He just confessed, gave Phoenix a cup of coffee as a sign of respect as they drank it together. There is so much more about the ending I could talk about but to sum it up, it was the perfect way to end the perfect game trilogy.

The Investigations soundfont doesn’t sound good imo

    Posted: 09 May 2020 03:04 PM PDT

There's just something that sounds so tinny... I really don't like the bells/piano, it makes it obvious you're playing on a DS lol

It's kinda whiplash because AJ's OST is really atmospheric and ambient, so going to Investigations it makes that game even less memorable than it already is imo.

(AAI2 has some good tracks and good moments I guess)
