The only there has been this big of a gap between new Ace Attorney games was between Trials & Tribulations and Apollo Justice, 16 years ago.

Just finished The Great Ace Attorney (spoilers)

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 08:07 AM PDT

And what a master piece this game was, I loved the new mechanics and the new characters, I love Susato, she is my favorite assistant of the series now. Thanks to Scarlet Study for letting me playing this.

Though I have to say, if I have to bring some negative point is that the pacing of some cases are really weird and in some cases I felt that they were unnecesarrely long, specially the last case. I'm aware that this was intended to be a longer game and that's why DGS 2 exist, I guess that game will answer the unresolved things from this first game, but as result of that, the cases go on for really long time, I'll be honest, I didn't feel like case 5 was an actual final case, but because it is the final case of the game, the trial prolongs forever.

Apart from that, I think this game was really good, good characters, good twist, good OST, and I'm looking forward to the translation of the second game, thank you Scarlet Study.

The Ultimate reveal trailer! (with voice acting)

Phoenix is on the couch in his office when the phone rings.

    *Steel Samurai ringtone plays*
    *Pick up* Phoenix: Hello?

Maya: NICK! TURN ON THE TV!

    P: Alright alright.

*Turns on tv, epic music plays*

P: ...Maya, you know I'm not into that kinda stuff.

M: You don't have to watch it! You gotta participate!

P: Participate? I can't do something like that! What would I even do?

M: I dunno. Do what you usually do.

*doorbell rings and Wright goes to get the mail*

P: Besides, don't you have to be invited to something like that?

M: Well, yeah. But maybe you have a chance of getting in!

    *flips through mail*

P: Right. Like people actually want me in-

*stops, and drops all other letters while staring at one*

M: Nick? Hello? You still there?

P: Maya? You know how I said you need an invitation?

    M: You didn't!

*opens letter, revealing the Smash seal*

    P: I think I just got one!

Just finished a legit play through of Rise from the Ashes

And um... yeah. I can now say Lana is one of the most tragic characters in the franchise. I kind of hope she comes back in future games but she probably won't.

Damon Gant. Such a vile person but a great villain.

Overall, I can now say that I have underestimated RFTA in the past. I actually really enjoyed my second playthrough of this amazing case.

My opinion on Iris Hawthorne (Quasi-Vent post to get off my chest)

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 09:42 PM PDT

Looking back at my history on this subreddit, I noticed that I've been rather inconsistent on my opinion on Iris Hawthorne. The only thing that was consistent was that I love her and I felt bad for her.

But as a character, I've noticed that I've been rather conflicted about her. On one hand, I think her tragic backstory is amazing. There just aren't many fictional characters that I want to hug that badly. And I also think that her genuine sweetness despite having such a horrible life is just mind boggling. Like wow. I guarantee most people would have just given up at some point.

But on the other hand, I cannot deny that her actions were kinda chaotic and I will not argue that she deserved a little jail time because she was still an accomplice. Which leads me to my problem with her: I don't know if I'm supposed to like her or just sympathize with her. And also, I feel like her character had some wasted potential. Despite that, she was pretty decently written for a one case character with barely any screen time. I made a tier list of most of the major players in this franchise and looking back, I kind of regret putting her at the very bottom because I do think she had a pretty great backstory.

So overall, I love Iris and I find her backstory amazing. I do think she had some wasted potential (right Pearl?), but I do think she is a pretty good character nonetheless.

As for the tier list I made, I think I will move her up to "good". Great backstory, some potential but overall pretty decent as far as one-shots go.

I just wanted to get this off my chest and clear things up with you guys once and for all.

What's the story of how you discovered and got into the series?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 08:18 PM PDT

There's this YouTube video game reviewer known as the Wiiviewr who I used to watch. Back in the early 2010s, he did reviews of the Wiiware ports of the first two Ace Attorney games. I found it looked really cool and intriguing so I picked up the series in early 2013. Two and a half years later, I had played every game available at the time, and I am currently going through and playing the series again before going to those games I haven't yet played. I love this series.

What's your tale? How did you discover and get into the Ace Attorney games?

Right in the end of the credits, Phoenix showed someone a photo of Jove Justice and asked if we should tell Apollo and Trucy about „it". Was that person Thalassa since she is the mother of them?

    Minecraft trial

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 12:11 AM PDT

We are having a trial in Minecraft because someone stole from the realm owner, and we have 2 people that he thinks could have been, he says he has proof, but I haven't seen it, I want to be the attorney or the prosecutor, but I'm not sure if someone else has an idea of the role they have to do, I bet it will be fun!

So Max hid Trilo somewhere after knocking Ben out with a bottle, but Ben had Trilo when the ringmaster walked by. One of those things can't be true, right? That feels off.

    Complaints part 2

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:06 PM PDT

I finished The Kidnapped Turnabout. Here are even more complaints about this mess of a case.

    1. Meekins, Oldbag, and Ema seemed pointless in the grand scheme of things. It just ended up feeling like they didn't want to make 3 new characters so they said screw it and put them in.

    2. Amano blew 1 million to buy the haunted house and save Lance. If he was willing to do that then why didn't he just give his son the money? The kidnapping plot didn't even need to happen.

    3. It's said in the case that Lance put the bad badger head on Edgeworth so Lauren would think it's Devorae. However he only has the head part on, did she just not see red clothes or his cravat?

    4. Edgeworth says he didn't hear the gunshot because of sound effects playing in the haunted house but I feel like you could tell the difference between a real gun shot and a recording of one.

    5. Most of the new characters have no personality or gimmicks. Usually you can tell what a character will be like based on appearance or the things they say off the bat. However characters like Amano, Lance, and Lauren just felt like emotionless robots.

    6. Lance put up little to no fight in the end, as soon as you start unraveling everything in the haunted house he just cracks without defending himself.

    7. The hidden corridor in the haunted house should've shown up on little thief because of the blue prints

Seriously, this case makes Turnabout Serenade look like a masterpiece.
