How good is the Investigations 2 fan translation?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2020 06:54 PM PST

I`ve always regarded the localization of the AA games among the best there is. So i`m little bit apprehensive when it comes to playing a project not made by the same team. But I also have to come with terms with the fact that the game will probably never get an overseas release.

So i just wanted to know what`s your opinion on the fan project.

My case tier list. I know this one is kinda basic, but let me know how you feel about it.

What games do think some of the AA characters like to play?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2020 03:08 PM PST

It can be board games, video games, or even card games! Here's some of mine:

•Phoenix would most likely play traditional games like checkers or maybe hide and seek when playing with Trucy or Pearl, but his favorite game probably would be poker after playing it for so long

•Edgeworth only really knows how to play chess now and doesn't play much else but he probably likes puzzle games too

•Larry secretly plays dating games and Gameboy Advance games he had as a child

•Apollo likes playing on his ds in his free time, enjoying things like Pokémon and Zelda games, (and it's stretching a bit of reality here) he would definitely play the first three Ace Attorney games and fanboy about Phoenix's cases

•Klavier would play rhythm games like guitar hero obviously but I think he would also enjoy racing games and arcade racers on his off time since he likes riding fast on his motorcycle

•Gumshoe would probably like to play something like Go Fish or Checkers with Edgeworth or Maggey since he wouldn't have enough money for video games

•Maya would most likely have a Steel Samurai type game she likes to play and she would play Mario Party with Phoenix and invite others to join in on the chaos

What do you think, you agree? Have a better choice for the characters, reply with your choices, I like to hear what y'all think!

    Courtroom Fantasy Warfare

    Posted: 24 Jan 2020 11:14 AM PST

During the time I took to make this, I saw other users make similar posts. Oh well, one more won't hurt.

Name some courtoom battles that could never happen, but you wish you could see them. I'll start with mine:

    - Kristoph Gavin VS Manfred von Karma: A battle between 2 villainous madmen. If this battle had happened, I believe it would have gone down in history as the most legendary courtoom battle of all time. As for the result... while most people claim that Manfred would win because of the lore, I strongly disagree. The winner would be Kristoph. And here's why: Kristoph is more meticulous than even von Karma and he wouldn't lose his cool against Manfred's intimidating presence. Remember, the only reason Phoenix was able to take Kristoph down was because he presented forged evidence, manipulated a trial's system and rigged the jury. And it took him 7 years to plan all that. Manfred lost because of his own foolishness. Honestly, the only way I can see von Karma unsettling Kristoph is by presenting forged evidence... but even then, Kristoph would still win by presenting forged evidence of his own that counters von Karma's forgery. Von Karma was suspected of keeping a perfect record by falsifying evidence and Kristoph would undoubtedly know that... whereas Von Karma tends to underestimate his opponents and he would not expect his opponent to present forged evidence too.

    - Kristoph Gavin VS Miles Edgeworth: Ah, a battle of the two most refined characters of the modern era Ace Attorney games. Now, before I say who I believe would win, let me just mention that, of all the prosecutors in the series, Miles is the most likely to defeat Kristoph (well, maybe except for van Zieks, but he isn't part of the modern era AA universe). Despite of that, I believe that Kristoph would win. The way it would go down is Miles corners Kristoph, but Kristoph uses a piece of forged evidence that completely takes Miles by surprise. But if that was not to happen, Kristoph would be in big trouble.

    - Mia Fey VS Franziska von Karma: This catfight would go from 0 to 100 pretty fast. Both girls are pretty sharp and are very skilled at making valid points while countering the opposition's arguments. In my opinion, this could go either way. I know Franziska was undefeated for a long period of time, much like her papa, but I believe that Mia could definitely give her a run for her money or even best her.

    - Diego Armando VS Klavier Gavin: AKA the coolest battle that never happened. If you put these two together, they'd spend more time upstaging each other in the sense of who is the biggest smartass, than actually examining the case. As for the result... all I can say is that it could go either way.

    - Diego Armando VS Simon Blackquill: Kinda like the previous battle, except that these two would go out of their way to find out who has the saddest backstory. In a courtroom battle, they'd be even. But outside of court, I could easily see these two becoming fast friends.

    - Apollo Justice VS Sebastian Debeste: Okay, now this battle, I really hope we get to see someday. If Sebastian ever returns, I believe he should be a fierce prosecutor who has been learning under the guidance of Miles and Franziska… but he can also be a klutz at times. I believe that a battle between him and Apollo would resemble the battles Phoenix and Miles had back in the day. Now, this is just a headcanon of mine, but I believe that a trial between these two would make for some good laughs. I imagine Sebastian screwing up and making some sort of silly mistake, and Sebastian's incompetence affects Apollo, who in turns makes a really stupid mistake of his own, resulting in them rubbing the back of their heads in embarrassment, while their mentors are pulling their hair in desperation. Regarding the result, Apollo should be able to win, but not without Sebastian giving him one hell of a fight.

    - Kristoph Gavin VS Klavier Gavin: I'm sure that everyone would want to watch a battle between the Gavins. With Kristoph's collected demeanor and Klavier's cool attitude, it would be a fun battle to watch. Now, as for the result... I can imagine Klavier being in the right, but Kristoph, being the ass that he is, wouldn't hesitate to play tricks on his brother to screw him out of a guilty verdict. When it comes down to business, Kristoph wouldn't show mercy to anyone, not even his own brother.

    - Miles Edgeworth VS Gregory Edgeworth: This one would be a marvel to watch. With both of them sharing the same passion and skills, Miles and Gregory would tear the roof down in a courtroom battle. The result wouldn't matter, because neither of them are interested in winning, they're only interested in finding the truth. And the best part is that there would be no hard feelings, as I'm sure either of them would love to be bested by the other.

    - Gregory Edgeworth VS Byrne Faraday: Compared to the other battles I've mentioned in this post, I believe that this battle would be more chill and less over-the-top. Gregory should be able to take this, but I expect Kay's dad to put on a good fight. Gregory and Byrne wouldn't have ill will towards each other. Actually, I can imagine a trial where these two end up working together, going as far as Byrne revealing that he is the Yatagarasu, to solve a case that would be unsolvable through normal means.

Well, that's all I can think of. What do you think? And what are some courtroom battles you wish we could get?

    I Beat The Layton Crossover

Really fun game, I personally find the last case to be really overhated and REALLY REALLY GREAT, like I love the twist, it actually makes so much sense.

And the Storyteller might be one of the best characters in the entire series, he's basically Dee Vasquez done right.

In that, yes he does tons of horrible things but the game actually perfectly explains WHY he does all those things and he even redeems himself.

Literally everything he ever done was for Espella, meanwhile Vasquez mostly just kinda worked for herself.

Anyhow, I have to say though that people are right about the third case being the best MAN WHAT A CASE.

So yeah, great game and now I've beat every Ace Attorney game aside from DGS 2 (which I'm watching a subbed playthrough of right now, currently on episode 1.)

Overall I can't wait to finish watching DGS 2 and than like have played (seen) every game of the series!

Subbed or Dubbed Ace Attorney Anime?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2020 04:58 AM PST

In terms of voice acting quality regardless of language, which would be better to watch with? I'm familiar with their Japanese name alternatives, so I'm basically going to be basing off the choice from voice quality.
