I was playing the trilogy and I saw that in JFA Gumshoe gets less than the cost of peanut butter for his salary. Since JFA came out in 2002, well. Gumshoe is technically a slave

Ema Skye needs her own game

    Posted: 20 Jan 2020 03:48 PM PST

I feel that Capcom should get on this and release it for the Switch. My favorite part of the Ace Attorney games were the forensics investigations with Ema, and an entire game based on that would be awesome.

What AA power would you like to have and why?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2020 01:43 PM PST

It can range from Wright's Magatama and see Psyche-Locks, Maya's ability to channel someone, or even Athena's ability to hear the emotion in someone's heart.

Personally I'd like Apollo's Perceive ability, but a close second is Miles' BASIC LOGIC

Ace Attorney Trilogy in Comparison to Duel Destinies?

    Posted: 20 Jan 2020 09:43 PM PST

So i tried out about an hour or so of Duel Destinies to see if i liked the games, i enjoyed my time with it, however. Im interested in purchasing the Ace Attorney Trilogy but am worried about how they'll feel in comparison to Duel Destinies, with it being a relatively modern game in comparison and also being in 3D. Just in terms of animations and how alive characters feel in the grand scheme of things, are they drastically different? I enjoyed how alive and expressive the 3D models were, i know 2D models wont exactly deliver that same feeling, but just wanting to know if they still at least do even if its not on par.

The Case For More "Court Like" Music

    Posted: 20 Jan 2020 07:26 PM PST

Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies is a hit and miss title for me. An excellent entry into the series one however with a myriad of plot issues and questionable gameplay elements, is still a fun game in it's own respect. It's a title that does many wrong but does to much right to really look down upon the product as a whole.

However one thing that Dual Destinies does have above all other titles in my opinion is a spectacular soundtrack. This is easily my favorite musical score in the series and alot of it has to do with the fact that DD has more of a themed style to the music.

By themed I'm talking the cheesy over the top court music. From the Investigations to Trucy's Apartment, every song you hear is delightfully over the top and powerful to the point where any scenario would have me smiling with how proud of itself the audio was.

Take the Courtroom Lobby theme for example, a staple in the series. This song sounds like it could be taken straight out of an episode of Judge Judy, or rather an episode of CSI or Law and Order. Loud, bombastic, slow and powerful. A mood that doesnt exactly fit the lobby very well but your having to much fun listening to care. Add in the suprise electric guitar riff as it echoes in the distance and you have hands down the most epic and goofy lobby theme in existence. It doesnt stop there, the good ol Investigation theme, is also a song that could be plucked from your local court show. Calm yet endearing pianos mixed with the sound of someone really enjoying the horn.

Many have stated Dual Destinies music overall is forgettable and not as enjoyable as the original Phoenix trilogy on the DS. I find these opinions perfectly respectable but also quite intriguing. What makes the original music so captivating? For me, having a more "court like" soundtrack adds soundtrack the overall tone of the series and gives it a unique identity that stands heads and shoulders above all other video games.

In terms of other entries in the series, they opt for a more "video game" like approach to their music. Fake midi instruments and or oldschool audio files similar to that of the GBA soundfont. Even with Ace Attorney Investigations my favorite entry in the series, it too lacks the court like music and instead ops for more heavy emphasis on the piano, and not the real piano either. Spirit of Justice also is lacking in the "court style" music and goes for more of an anime esque soundtrack with numerous computer instrumentals and synths.

The only other entries that have this "courtlike" music similar to Dual Destinies is the Great Ace games. While I've yet to play them since their Japanese only titles, their soundtracks are deliciously ridiculous and over the top. Orchestras galore and a much heavier emphasis on classical music, more like something youd hear in a movie score only with that catchy memorable rhythm.

Favorite AA6/Spirit of Justice Quotes? (Spoilers)

    Posted: 20 Jan 2020 11:42 AM PST

My personal favorite is "If you commit the crime, you'd better be ready to do the time. Be you a priest, saint, queen, or god" . It just signifies Apollo's belief that nobody is above the law, beautifully.

Another one I love is "wasn't there some sign of another victim there in the tomb? And yet... why do I sense i'm not going to like what i'm about to find out?" because it's the point where most players finally realize (myself included) the biggest twist of 6-5. It just hits you all at once and blindsides you as a mindfuck, all the signs were there you just weren't able to see them until this exact moment.

You don't have to bring up a different quote if your favorite is the same as mine or other people's. I'm also interested to see the different reasons people would love the same quote as well :)

I'm surprised this hasn't been done already, but I guess it's because most posts just ask for people's favorite quotes in the whole series than just a specific game.

The killer of bridge to the turnabout is a villain

    Posted: 20 Jan 2020 10:52 AM PST

Godot is the killer and people make the argument that he's not evil but Acro and Mimi aren't evil either just because they're sympathetic doesn't make them not a villain in short if it's a killer no matter what it's a villain
