Haven’t felt this way about fictional characters in YEARS

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 05:39 PM PST

I used to get obsessed with things super easily (~10 years ago when I was in middle school/early high school) but I haven't felt this strongly about fictional characters since then.

I started playing the games back in July of last year and now I'm on SOJ, and GOD I can't think about anything else except Ace Attorney. It consumes almost every thought I have and I love and care about these (fictional!!!) characters so much. Sometimes I'll just think about them and smile. I have a folder on my computer of all of my favorite sprites of each of them HELP

But seriously is anyone else consumed by AA thoughts daily?

Finally completed Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 08:13 PM PST

What a ride. I've known about this series for ages. I took an interest in Phoenix Wright when he was included in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (2011), but I never took the time to get into the Ace Attorney series. Well, after a good friend of mine recommended this trilogy, I figured I might as well give it a try. This was back in Nov.

From the moment I heard the trial theme begin after the judge banged down his gavel, I knew I was going to enjoy every last minute of it.

Getting into this game was extremely easy. The music, the atmosphere, the characters, the investigations, the contradictions, the presses, the annoying penalties, and the breakdowns. Everything about this game is memorable and oozes fun. You can tell Capcom had a great time working on this series.

There were nights when I found myself stuck and it took everything in me to not follow any guides. Some of the cases (mainly in JFA) were so wild that I felt like I had no choice but to look up the answers to get pass certain parts. Thankfully I didn't resort to that.

I kinda felt myself getting a bit misty-eyed (don't laugh) during the credits of Trials & Tribulations. It made me realize how much I've come to love this series despite not being invested in it for as long as many others. It's also changed my perspective in how I choose to look at things in my daily life.

I know there's still lots of AA (getting ready to start Apollo Justice soon. started playing the Edgeworth game) left to explore, but the way the trilogy ended was nothing short of amazing. I was all in my feels.

I'm really happy I took the time to get into Ace Attorney. A truly beautiful series.

As an HSP (highly sensitive person) I empathize with Athena Cykes so fucking much. I'd love to have one of Dr. Cykes' pairs of headphones too lmao, overstimulation is a bitch

    2D or 3D. What’s your preference?

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 02:02 PM PST

This post may contain spoilers for Dual Destinies case 1.

The 2D to 3D transition of the franchise was handled really well in most aspects and now they can pull of some animations they couldn't before, but when I look at Ted Tonate and his "wire-biting" animation i can always notice just a touch of clipping and those horrendous teeth. And Payne's "hand wagging" animation just seems strange in 3D. I do think of course making the animation emulate the style of the original is a good thing but particular examples (such as Payne's "hand wagging") just dont look great. However the 3D games do have their merit. You look back at Ted Tonate and he has many "eye zoom" animations. I think these look incredibly good. The animations for the murderer in the first act of Spirit Of Justice has even better animation. Im looking forward to where they bring the animation now they are not confined to the 3DS but I have to ask. Which do you prefer, 2D or 3D?

Don’t mind me I’m just going to bed now. Ahhhh I’m so tired but this animation/animatic thing was so fun to make. Here’s where the audio is from. https://youtu.be/BI3LJ9BPjmc

I've put Barok's "Objection!" voice clip on my notification sound. Sure,I get a little heart-attack sometimes, but I think it's worth it in the end.

    Objection.lol doesn't load for me?

I've only noticed one other post with this issue, and it was with a Windows 7 computer. For some reason, trying to open Objection.lol leads to this screen whenever I try to access it on any web browser. I've tried putting it in as http:// and https:// but neither of them fix the issue. I saw that going into advanced setting on Windows proxy menu will allow you to access certain things that might fix this, but Windows 10 doesn't have an advanced setting menu there. Please can somebody help me? I really want to get back on this.
