One of your number one wishes for AA7 comes true but...

    Posted: 23 Dec 2020 02:32 PM PST

A potentially fun hypothetical for everybody: Let's say that Ace Attorney 7 finally comes out, and much to your delight, the one single thing you've been hoping and praying will happen finally does! However, at the same time, the trade off is that the worst possible outcome for another thing you really, really wanted happens as well. I know this is somewhat vague, but I am curious as to what thoughts the community has on such a concept.

So what is the fun exciting thing that would come true for you? And in exchange, what other fun exciting thing gets ruined in exchange?

(Spoilers for Apollo Justice... Just a heads up...)

For me, the number one thing that I am hoping for in AA7 is to finally resolve the lose hanging thread around Apollo and Trucy's shared parentage in regards to Lamiroir. I really just want that all wrapped up in a nice, cute little way where both characters can be free to interact with Lamiroir/Thalassa in a sweet family moment kind of way.

The next thing that I really, really want that would unfortunately be ruined given my scenario is the return of familiar characters from the trilogy who've been absent since. The one that sticks out as the most obvious choice for me would be Dick Gumshoe. Given the premise I presented, in exchange for the resolution between Apollo, Trucy, and Lamiroir, we'd have the return of Gumshoe, but his character would be horribly butchered. Truly a tragic future indeed.

So yeah, anybody got any ideas?

    6-1 was something else, damn.

    Posted: 23 Dec 2020 01:55 PM PST

So 6-1 actually shocked me. This is the first fucking case???

I mean... no other way to put it... best first case in the series. It sets up a plot that's honestly far more ambitious that I would have expected from a game about lawyering before I started the series (we'll see how well it executes it). Like, the trial had so much weight. Not only are you protecting an innocent little boy and his cute doggo, but Phoenix's life is also on the line. And you're making an actual difference in the country. The first "Not Guilty" in 23 years. Khura'in is pretty fucked up.

About the characters... MAYA HYPE!!! But also...

Gaspen actually disgusted me. Like, he was going to have Phoenix killed because... what? He lost to him once? What a pathetic pile of garbage. I actually cannot put into words how much I hate him right now. This genuinely made him my most hated AA character.

Rayfa I hate immensely, too. She is in a way like Dahlia Hawthorne, but without the malevolent charisma of a main villain that makes her a character you love to hate, rather than a character you just hate. So, I have this terrible pit in my stomach, born of fear that she'll somehow get off the hook or get a redemption arc, especially after that comment that she's still just a teenager. I'll hate it immensely if she doesn't get due punishment after presumably sentencing countless innocent people to death.

Dhurke I hope and assume will be the final defendent.

    Theory about Acro

    Posted: 23 Dec 2020 11:29 PM PST

Hi I'm new here but wanted to get this out there. I just finished this case and can't stop thinking that Acro didn't actually make any mistakes: he intended to kill the ringmaster.

First, knowing Regina and how naive she was, how could he believe she'd understand the note to be addressed to herself? And go to the place and hour of the meeting just as she was told? Because she was called "a murderer"? She had barely ever acknowledged the accident where Bat got injured, let alone feeling like a murderer for it.

It was just expected she'd ignore it and place it somewhere else, or most probably, show it to her father. Now he'd understand the incident that the note was referring to and since he was indeed a murderer himself (he killed Leon the lion) he'd of course do as he was told. Even if he didn't and understood the note to be directed to Regina, he'd do anything to protect his daughter.

So, it's hard for me to believe Acro didn't think about this or that it was not part of his original plan. While it's true he felt grateful to the ringmaster, he was moved by the hatred he felt towards Regina. What better revenge than taking her father's life? That way she'd somewhat understand the pain he was going through, and eventually it'd force her to see the truth and stop that naivety of hers when facing death.

Secondly, the evidence. Acro supposedly placed the pepper inside the box just to lure Regina but once again, how could that have worked out? She wouldn't have understood what it meant in the moment and even so, by how the crime was committed, not even the ringmaster had any time to look inside the box and find the pepper.

It was a lot more plausible that as the case would unfold in court, Regina could somewhat acknowledge that the crime for his father's murder had something to do with the accident she took part of, and potentially feel guilty for it.

Maybe there are other things I could point out but as of now I'm just curious if anyone else has thought about this possibility. I'm aware most people disliked this case and I actually kinda did too, however, this little piece of the puzzle still doesn't fit quite well for me.

TL;DR: Acro never actually wanted to kill Regina, he wanted to make her suffer by murdering her father.

Share your weirdest headcanons for Ace Attorney

    Posted: 23 Dec 2020 12:01 PM PST

What the title says; do not judge, just share whatever outlandish headcanons your mind conjured/adopted.

I'll start with two of mine:

    1) Juniper Woods is 5'5, while Apollo remains at 5'4. This headcanon is based on nothing but sheer hilarity of the thought of Junie being taller than Apollo. 2) Simon Blackquill is a telepath, and he uses an actual psychic blade to cut people's hair off; that is the only explanation how he does that.

How many people have played Ace Attorney Fan Games?

    Posted: 23 Dec 2020 01:50 PM PST

I've been on this subreddit for a long time yet I've never seen people talk abour fan games. There tens of cases that are just as good as official cases, if not better, with custom art and music as well. There are TWO entire fan games, with 4 episodes in both of them (Contempt of Court and Conflict of Interest).

These two games have overarching stories, twists and unique mechanics. They have the humor and characters of official games (with their personalities unaltered). They could have been released right after Apollo Justice and noone would have known they were fan games. Yet noone talks about them for some reason. I saw hundrends of post analysing the main games but only one for the fan games. So I'm making it 2.

Why does noone talk about AA fan games?
