Rise from the Ashes - Trial 1 Major Logic Flaw Posted: 15 Aug 2020 10:42 PM PDT So despite playing Rise from the Ashes several times through, I only just picked up on this watching it on a stream. Spoilerless Version Trial Day 1 revolves around a feigned attempt to prove that the suspect didn't kill the victim, though she's admitting that she did. At the end, a piece of evidence is given that should show for certain that she did the crime due to blood on it. You counter it with a photograph of the scene, where there is no blood. They then argue that the blood was washed away from the scene during a struggle. But the timeline of the crime states the following if you have been paying attention: The issue with this is that they completely forget about the chain of events because of the fact that the blood wasn't in the photograph. Yet it was also specifically stated that the barrel was knocked over during the struggle to arrest the defendant, which again is after the photo was taken from the position the witness/arrestee was. And the barrel being knocked over would be what washed away the blood. Later on, it is shown that there is blood there, but the whole ending of that trial day is confusing and the logic because of the chain of events breaks the whole section of the case if it were actually applied correctly and not overlooked. What is the reason behind this sudden lack of time awareness? Were they just suddenly so worried about the barrel filled with water that they assumed blindly that it was used before the photo, despite testimony against that? [link] [comments]

Where did maggey go when the murder took place in the Lost Turnabout? Posted: 15 Aug 2020 09:24 PM PDT Sorry this is sort of a trivial q, I just wanna clear up the vagueness surrounding the murder in the Lost Turnabout. The guy kills Maggey's cop boyfriend out of fear of getting questioned, but where was Maggey when it happened?? [link] [comments]

So I finally watched the Ace Attorney movie in full for the first time, and I have some thoughts Posted: 15 Aug 2020 06:58 AM PDT So yesterday was my birthday so I convinced my friends to watch the AA movie with me, now that you can rent it on amazon. My friends seemed to enjoy it, but I am convinced that if you hadn't played the game before you would have absolutely no idea what's going on. There were multiple times that I had to explain what was going on because the movie didn't explain itself. For example, the DL-6 spirit channeling performed by Misty Fey is shown (which it isn't in the game), but they really don't explain why the police resorted to a spirit medium in the first place. I also think the structure is a little bit wonky. I'm pretty sure The First Turnabout is less than 5 minutes, and Turnabout Samurai is essentially skipped save for Dee Vasquez' breakdown. Turnabout sisters, which is longer than those two, is still only one day and skips over the Bellboy and April May entirely, instead going directly Redd White. Turnabout Goodbyes, however gets its full 3-day trial from the game. I think Sisters being shortened and Goodbyes unchanged was a bad decision because Edgeworth doesn't get time to develop before Phoenix has to defend him. In the game, players go against Edgeworth for two cases, so they see how he operates and learn his personality. This makes the player feel more conflicted when you find out that he has been accused of murder in turnabout goodbyes. In the movie though, I just feel like we didn't see enough of Edgeworth before he became the defendant. If it were me I would have made Turnabout Sisters full length, and shortened Goodbyes to two days. The creative liberties are also a bit weird. The costumes for characters like Phoenix, Maya, Edgeworth, Von Karma, and Larry are extremely accurate to the games (though phoenix's tie does have white stripes if you care about that). Some characters though, mainly Redd White, who looks like professor snape, but also Yanni Yogi and the judge look pretty different than in the games. Also they use Holograms to represent the UI in the games but I really don't think it's necessary, and the anime finds a much better solution to that. Other than that though, I think it captures the spirit of Ace Attorney pretty well. There are some cool references such as Gregory Edgeworth wearing his AAI2 outfit instead of the one he's depicted as wearing in AA1. The music is also awesome just like the games. TL;DR: It has some glaring issues but it's pretty enjoyable overall. [link] [comments]
The address on a certain envelope (AJ:AA, Case 4) Posted: 15 Aug 2020 11:44 PM PDT Replaying the last case of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney right now, and I've spotted something mildly interesting. The red envelope found in Drew Studio has a full (made-up) address written on it, which I'm reasonably sure wasn't readable at all in the original DS version of the game, due to the heavy compression applied to both the evidence sprite and the texture on the model in the 3D examination screen. Since I'm playing the Android remaster, though, it's easily readable in full.
Obviously this doesn't match with any real-world location (there's definitely no "Yachtsville" in California), but I just thought it was a weird little detail worth sharing. Meanwhile, Spark Brushel's business card from a short while later has a fake Japanese address and some other nonsense information that can be read reasonably well, too. [link] [comments]

How do I get the Spirit Of Justice DLC? Posted: 15 Aug 2020 06:49 PM PDT I'm on the EShop trying to buy Spirit Of Justice. On the Spirit Of Justice page, I can't find the DLC. I can find it on the Dual Destinies page, although it says I have to buy the Dual Destinies DLC in the game. I don't want to buy Spirit Of Justice the wrong way, accidentally locking myself out of being able to get the DLC. Thanks for helping! [link] [comments]
Is it worth it to buy the trilogy for the switch? Posted: 15 Aug 2020 09:10 AM PDT sorry if asking stuff breaks rules. okay so I'm almost at my money goal for buying a switch. with the remaining funds I'm buying one official nintendo game, and one non official but still (less)expensive game. I have the whole series besides dd and SOJ on my ds emulator, so thats why I'm wondering is the boost to HD worth 65 dollars? Or should I wait until after TGS in case they announce a new game? won't be able to afford both. I just need opinions. Thank you so much! [link] [comments]
Does anyone know why Capcom wont localize Gyakuten Kenji 2? Posted: 15 Aug 2020 08:17 AM PDT I know that Capcom wont localize DGS/DGS2 because there'd be legal trouble with the Sherlock Holmes thing, but what about GK2? Is there a reason, like legal troubles, or something else? [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Aug 2020 08:32 AM PDT So I was watching Kiryu Coco's 3d debut and it got me thinking. What if there was a case where the victim was a vtuber? And sort of like The Magical Turnabout or Turnabout Serenade, you'd have to look into the various components to the illusion and figured out what could and couldn't have happened by watching the footage. Idk, what do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
