Is Apollo Justice not Phoenix Wright's son?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 08:47 PM PDT

..I feel really stupid. I always thought that they were father and son. Apparently Apollo just looks up to Pheonix? I'm in the middle of the first game.

When reading comments on this subreddit, does the commenter's flair change your perception of their writing?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 04:35 PM PDT

I'm curious about everyone else's experience with this. Since we have all played the series and spin-offs (to varying degrees), each of us has an intrinsic feeling about each of the characters we've encountered in the games we've experienced. Usually, one's flair is set to the character that the person deems their favorite or the most relatable. (Mine satisfies both of these descriptions.) In your experience, does a person's flair influence your view of the person commenting, or the content of the message that they are sharing?

Question about 6-5 for people who know a bit about actual law

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 01:22 PM PDT

So I am currently doing 6-5 and even though i find it weird that plain outlaw rebels can walk with passport like if it was nothing trouble me, i have to say that for the moment i enjoy this case much more than the others, no way over the top stakes (for now...) people i find likeable....

And I am now at a twist where we learn than none other than phoenix wright himself will be our opponent in this case, and if i completly dig it for the drama and all, and the characterisation of both him and Appolo I have to wonder if it wouldn't be one hell of a conflict of interest to have both lawyer from the same agency advocating for opposing party in a trial?

Wright Wednesday-Farewell, My Turnabout Part One

SPOILER!!! AAI2 "The Grand Turnabout" Villain's charges and trial: an attempted analysis.

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 09:10 AM PDT

I guess it's the nth post I make on here about Simon Keyes but I can't help it.
I was wondering about his charges: I've read a few discussions about this matter on this subreddit and on other forums as well, so I'm trying to put things together.
    - Tampering with the evidence. I'm not really sure when that happens. Maybe it's about Simon modifying the time of death of the "President" in the refrigerated warehouse? Moving his corpse around? Anything else?
    - Framing someone else for murder. He framed John for the murder of the "President".
    - Obstruction of justice. He lied to officers (he also threatened them with the stolen gun and his tamed animals).
    - Two different kidnappings: child abduction, kidnapping, drugging. He didn't do more than that. He never tried to hurt them in any other way.
    - He killed the "President". It was self defense. Does it really count?
    - Others: illegal wiretapping? Carrying a stolen gun? Starting a fire when he was a child? Blackmailing the judge? Breaking flight laws when he decided to ride his hot air balloon just like that, on a building? Helping a contestant cheat during cooking competitions? Being a small accomplice to a serial killer?

    My opinions now:
Do you think Edgeworth actually prosecuted Simon in his trial? Who would his defence attorney be?
I was wondering whether Edgeworth would go soft on him or not. I'm not sure how many years he is charged for, but an extremely good lawyer could get Simon a reduced sentence for sure.
His defence lawyer should have an in-depth knowledge of every case Simon was involved in and he should manage to deal with his defendant and earn his trust.
I believe the attorney could go for a insanity defence as well: Simon was very well aware of what he was doing but he wasn't in his right state of mind at the time - has he ever been mentally stable?
I'm not sure Simon wants to have his penalty reduced, though. He doesn't know what it means to lead an ordinary life. I don't even think he ever got school education after he escaped from the orphanage.
In a positive law system someone like him should be prompted to rehabilitation and he should be provided with mental support all the time in order to start anew once he is out of jail.
I think Simon got heavy fines too. I have no idea how he could get money to hire Shelly: he doesn't look wealthy at all to me, and with his trial he has to pay fines and also his defense attorney's bill. I hope he paid Ray when he defended him the first time.
Finally, Simon could press charges himself for what happened to him as a child. I'm not really sure if this is how it works but I believe something can be done with how law enforcements and the orphanage employees dealt with him as a kid.
Maybe also against his biological father: child abandonment, child neglect, child exploitation...?
Dai Long-Lang is dead, Dane Gustavia, Patricia Roland, Blaise Debeste, are in jail already.
In case he wins (this is actually the reason why he committed all of his crimes) he might get a reduced penality and a big compensation.

I think I'm done. Thank you for reading it all, English is not my first language and I'm not familiar with Law terms, but I did my best.
Let me know what you think!

Culprits who ALMOST got away with it

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 05:29 AM PDT

Looking at all the culprits who tried to get away with their crime but were caught, there were several who were terribly close to getting away with it.

Which of those culprits do you feel got the closest to pinning the crime on somebody else?

Conversely, which culprit do you think was the sloppiest and couldn't have looked more guilty if they tried?

This should be the final villain of AA7

    Posted: 12 Aug 2020 05:58 PM PDT

If Capcom really wants to be serious, than this is my idea for Ace Attorney 7's final case.

    His name? The Demiurge.

In the Platonic, Neopythagorean, Middle Platonic, and Neoplatonic schools of philosophy, the demiurge (/ˈdɛmi.ɜːrdʒ/) is an artisan-like figure responsible for fashioning and maintaining the physical universe. The Gnostics adopted the term "demiurge". Although a fashioner, the demiurge is not necessarily the same as the creator figure in the monotheistic sense, because the demiurge itself and the material from which the demiurge fashions the universe are both considered to be consequences of something else. Depending on the system, they may be considered to be either uncreated and eternal or the product of some other entity.

In the arch-dualist ideology of the various Gnostic systems, the material universe is evil, while the non-material world is good. According to some strains of Gnosticism, the demiurge is malevolent, as it is linked to the material world. In others, including the teaching of Valentinus, the demiurge is simply ignorant or misguided.

What do you think? Should he be the final villain out of all in Ace Attorney? The one responsible for all the injustice in the Ace Attorney world? What do you think?
