Neat little tidbit about Dahllia's last name, it may be a reference to a psychological study, relating to having different actions depending on if being knowingly observed or not.

So, even though this was back in 2002, how does this subreddit feel about Hideo Kojima taking the lead on an Ace Attorney game (AA7?). Especially considering he has his own company now.

What is the order of the main series games?

    Posted: 12 May 2020 07:29 PM PDT

Hey! I just got recommend this game series after really enjoying Danganronpa, and I was wondering what order do I play the games? (Sorry if this is asked a lot haha). I'm only interested in the main story at this moment and if I enjoy them I'll try out the side games. It's a bit confusing because when I looked it up, there was like 20 different games/versions. I have a 3ds so if there's physical versions for the 3ds that would be preferred.

Help me understand the love for Ace Attorney Investigations 2

    Posted: 12 May 2020 06:59 PM PDT

For awhile I've seen AAI2 be considered one of, if not, the best game in the series. I loved AAI1 and hearing how beloved AAI2 had me sufficiently hyped. I finally got around to finishing the game and unfortunately I was massively disappointed. I loved the story and characters that were presented but from a gameplay perspective it fell flat.

Is "Raise an Objection" ever the wrong choice?

    Posted: 12 May 2020 10:59 AM PDT

I'm replaying the trilogy, and there's a lot of times where the games ask you if you want to raise an objection to something the witness said.

I'm not talking about the "present" and "press" buttons, but when it gives you two options options along the lines of "Raise an Objection" and "Let it Slide".

Is there ever a time where choosing "Raise an Objection" is the wrong choice?

I'm sure there is, but I can't remember.

The reason Dual Destinies is the most divisive in the series is because of its bad dialogue

    Posted: 12 May 2020 08:03 AM PDT

I just beat Dual Destinies again, and I've noticed something this time. The dialogue, at times, is soo poor, where if these dialogues were voice acted, this would end up in cringe compilations. Worst offender of this is Solomon Starbuck, who is just not funny enough to have so many 'jokes'. Even Apollo and Clays flashback scene, while touching, has terrible dialogue.

But I still love this game anyways. And I know half of you do as well. I feel our subset is okay with overlooking bad dialogue if the underlying story is great, and here, it really is. The idea of the Phantom being this emotionless confident Spy who forgot who he is is awesome, showing us how not every murder has some deep motive behind it, some people simply die for getting in the way. The fact that he got so involved in his work, he forgot who he is as a person, might also be seen as satire of the Japanese work culture, where you live to work and not work to live.

Also the game technically called us out for discouraging not having blind faith when they introduced Apollo in case 5 trial and made us, for a moment, think he's a bad guy now. The entire story of the true meaning of trust was great.

    But dialogues like:

Phoenix: I will do everything to protect my client!

Judge: Your crying ant? Shouldn't it be your crying orca?

make this game hard to defend among those who dislike it. What do you guys think?

Is this just me or this game is indeed declining in popularity?

    Posted: 12 May 2020 07:01 AM PDT

So in 2007/2008 i got a DS to play the trilogy. Despite liking the game (it felt very unique at its time and i liked the humor) i never finished them except the first one bc of my limited english. I also got AAI but i had the same problem so i never finished it. I kinda grew out of them later but I still like the series so when dual destinies was announced i was happy bc of the graphic change but apparently it was digital only bc according to capcom it was costly to release physical version. It got me thinking, the game was really popular back then, i think it peaked on AAAJ but now they couldnt even release the physical version?? Also apparenrly AAI sold poorly so I can understand. I mean i actually understand why 10+ year old games will have declining popularity by 2020 but i stumbled on a sales thread and apparently the games are still doing well...? Not too different from AAAJ? So i'm not sure, am i just imagining things or is it true the series lost its fanbase ESPECIALLY its western fanbase?
