I've figured out the only true constant of the Ace Attorney franchise

    Payne Time

Every single game, mainline, investigations, DGS, has a member of the Payne family appear. Without fail.

Life comes and goes, but Payne is eternal.

    Finished Trials and Tribulations!!!

    Posted: 19 May 2020 07:22 PM PDT

What an amazing trilogy! I can't stress how much I loved this trilogy enough, I randomly bought it on a whim after hearing that it was amazing, and I love it to death. The characters, the plots, the trials, it was an amazing ride!

Every single final trial (Turnabout Reunions, Rise from the Ashes, Farewell, My Turnabout, and Bridge to the Turnabout) were incredibly jaw-dropping! I'm a very emotional goofball, so each case definitely had me invested, crying, screaming, laughing, and smiling like an idiot.

Trials and Tribulations had to be the hardest game for me lol. There was so many times where I had to reload my save cause I lost the case and was confused on what piece of evidence to present, but I was hooked. Mia and Godot's relationship, the Dahlia's revenge, the Fey clan blood war, it was great.

I can't name a favorite character because I love so many of them. Nick was an amazing main character, Maya and Pearl are adorable, Edgeworth was badass, I could go on and on. I'm so excited to continue playing this series!

100% of many favorite games to date!

Do you think a judge should be a culprit in one of the games?

    Posted: 19 May 2020 06:09 PM PDT

I’ve been watching some spirit of justice let’s plays and I have a question...

    Posted: 19 May 2020 09:59 PM PDT

In all the let's plays I watch, somehow everyone is able to deduce that Inga has prosopagnosia when we find the notes in his home. How did they deduce this so quickly? I've never heard of such a condition and yet I don't remember that condition be mentioned before they find his note. It's a pretty rare and uncommon condition yet they were able to make that guess as soon as the note is found. How were all these Youtubers able to make the connection?

The note made no sense to me when I saw it and I didn't know he had prosopagnosia until the condition was literally mentioned in court. Am I just dumb or was the condition mentioned in the game before?

Apparently, Phoenix was tired of those annoying prosecutors around. That's why he decided to take on the role of the judge himself.

    Plot Holes in Turnabout Samurai

    Posted: 19 May 2020 04:33 PM PDT

So, I have a number of problems with the story of Turnabout Samurai, and no one anywhere seems to have addressed them:

    1) Why didn't the camera take pictures of people returning from the studios? It should've taken a second picture of Cody as he left. It also would've taken a picture of Powers, but it didn't, proving that he couldn't have done it. In essence, Powers should never have been suspected in the first place.

    2) How could Vasquez and Manella drive to Studio 1 with the body when Mr Monkey blocked the road? It was there at 2:15, and it wasn't moved til 5. It covered the whole place, and Vasquez never mentions it at the end. Did they go another way?

If anyone can help me understand, that'd be much appreciated.

    Poll: Best Payne

    Posted: 19 May 2020 12:56 PM PDT

Which victim has the best characterization?

    Posted: 19 May 2020 03:36 PM PDT

    Didn't do DGS 2 because I didn't think enough have watched/played it.

I applaud victims like JFA 4 and and DGS 3 that we don't even see in the game at all but we get a sense of their actions and personality through flashbacks and the motivations of the killers.

Much better than masquedemasque 2, forgot he even existed lol, pinnacle of characterless victims.

An observation I had about Recipe for Turnabout

    Posted: 19 May 2020 09:34 AM PDT

So a thought occurred to me. Recipe for Turnabout was originally supposed to be included with Justice for All. Because of that, instead of Godot, Franziska would've been the prosecutor. It's interesting to think about because while it makes sense that Godot was able to "tame" Furio Tigre as part of his cool guy persona, it's harder to imagine Franziska being able to do the same.

Some ways I think she could've calmed Tigre down:

    1) She whips Phoenix and Maya, Furio Tigre thinks it's hilarious and decides to play along with the prosecution

    2) Furio Tigre is into getting whipped / thinks Franziska's flirting with him by whipping, which actually frustrates Franziska

    3) Tigre is acting up in court, leading to Gumshoe bursting in the room and threatening to beat Tigre up again if he doesn't cooperate.

    4) Darkest route: Franziska blackmails Tigre into cooperating as she knows he's being targeted by the Cadaverini crime family

Question on Rise from the Ashes

    Posted: 19 May 2020 09:38 AM PDT

It seems that fans are able to piece together the Ace Attorney storyline, so I have some questions about Rise From The Ashes. I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts!

    1. How is the alternate ending possible if someone can't be convicted under illegal evidence? I would expect Ema can't be shown to be Neil's murderer under illegal evidence.

If Wright presents the cloth the first time he's asked to (i.e., before Gant admits to cutting it off Neil Marshall's clothes), he fails to tie Gant to the evidence forgery, instead proving Ema to be Neil's murderer. Lana is subsequently declared guilty.

    1. How come the SL-9 incident was able to be discussed in court despite it being a closed case?

    2. Gant says his position lets him refuse to testify, but doesn't everyone get that right by pleading the fifth?

    3. Since Gant did refuse and isn't supposed to make any more statements, how come he was allowed to ask Wright for the conclusive evidence and continue talking about his role in the forgery?

    4. Since Maya saw the jar at an angle that looks like the Blue Badger, then the jar survived that fall? It flew through the air but was left intact so that Gant could write Ema's name on it?

tl;dr I have questions about the plot in Rise from the Ashes and would appreciate hearing others' thoughts.
