    Help me settle a debate about Sholmes' deductions

    (TGAA2-5 spoilers ahead)

    (Title is slightly misleading, we can't truly "settle" the debate, but we can at least get a much better idea of where most people stand on the issue)

    If there's one takeaway you'd get from Sholmes' deductions, it's that they're generally way off base. The starkest exception to that comes in the final case of DGS2, where he and Yujin Mikotoba do a Dance of Deduction and Sholmes' logic seems to be spot-on/flawless throughout the sequence.

    I've seen two major interpretations of this difference in the quality of Sholmes' logic:

    1. Sholmes was just messing around in his deductions with Ryunosuke and his logic was spot-on with Mikotoba because he was taking the deduction seriously given that time was of the essence (the SS Grouse was about to take off, Jigoku was a vital witness, etc.). Sholmes is perfectly capable of a flawless deduction on his own
    2. Sholmes just needed the right partner to do a deduction with—someone who would step in to steer him on course before his logic ran off track (i.e. Mikotoba). By himself, Sholmes' deductions will naturally go way off course, and his deductions with Ryunosuke were bad because Ryunosuke wasn't stepping in to temper his logic

    I know which of the two I think is what was intended based on things that happen/get said throughout the games, but I want to know how most people interpreted this final Dance of Deduction. It's possible that both of these are partially true, but based on things that happen throughout Chronicles, I feel pretty strongly that the devs specifically had one of these two in mind as the main explanation for the difference

    There was no toilet in Kazuma's cabin, and Ryunosuke was unable to leave. We can only deduce that Ryunosuke must have had to pee/poop in some kind of container and Kazuma had to dispose of it.
